2 on the bench

Beautiful Patrice! That carved handle looks more like it has ripples than it looking carved. I mean that as a compliment. It looks very organic to the wood. I so wish I had more time to try stuff like that.

I sure hope you NEVER make knives to sell. Meaning to make knives that you think will sell. Please continue making what pleases your soul and trust that what you create will sell. Honestly, I truly believe it will.

I first saw your work within two months of my start, you had very few pieces posted on your page, but the exquisite detail and craftsmanship quickly drove home the praise I'd seen such others as Don Fogg laud for your in-born talent.
Believe me when I say I use the work you (and others I'm apt to applaud) as a set golden standard.

The wood work here is an example to that--the supple gentle steppes to the front strap are more akin to the silken folds of a woman's slip than hardwood. The lines drift and blend into each other so that the eye does not so much as travel the length, but falls down the slippery, sliding angles, suggesting such subtly as the shadows in each nook and cranny can only hint. For example, the crisp clean lines to the blade geometry matched to the egress in the choil and ricasso each denote the bold, strong dimensions and the careful blending in polishing--it speaks of a clear, focused mind on the grinding while the more artistic side of your mind played with the colors, hues, and accents intended to match such dominating presence in the steel.
You may yet be the Scagel of our generation, sir, and it is an honor and privilege to see a natural take to his craft as serenely and easily as the mallard takes to the water.

Really nice knife Patrice. Your work reflects the skilled hands of a craftsman and the trained eye of an artist....

Hey Pat that is amazing the contours you put into the handle really made it stand out.

Is the metal that you used on the guard, spacer and pommel, Silver/Nickel?
The nut that you made for the pommel is that hand made or did you do that with a mill?

Any way you look at it this knife it is more of your A+ game, I am jealous!

Here is my rating :thumbup: and please tell me you are still not saying you haven't sold one because if you haven't there are a lot of buyers out there that would love to get there hands on that one! Just put it on the market!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, you guys are too nice. I think I am gonna have your words framed Ed.;) They are way over the top for this beginning knifemaker but I cant say they arent nice to hear just he same.

Dixie, fittings are 1018 mild steel. I'd like to get an electroplating setup someday but in the meantime they are just high polished. I was thinking of cold blueing them but hey are growing on me as they are. And the nut was turned on the lathe. Oh an you are also right, still haven't sold one. That it will sell depends a lot on pricing and that's he biggest headache for me.

Thanks again for all the good words. :o

That handle has gone from very good looking to super and very beautiful as well as being most unique !!!!! Others that had a shape "similar" are now just others and this has becoime a Lemee. The personality enters and attrracts further deserved attention ! Frank

That's a nice thing to say Frank. But you guys have to stop though, or I might start to believe you. :o;)

Shawn, this might go to a private buyer yet. From by long waiting/mailing list. ;)

Understandable, it's a beauty of a knife. You have some amazing knifes on your site, and this one is just as great :)

Woohoo! Knife is sold to a private collector. (Just sounds better than buyer.) ;)

Thanks for he link Sam, that might be an option until I can do my own, if I ever can

Thanks for the good words Greg.
I must admit that I feel better now that this selling thing is finally underway.

Knife is done. One last dip in the Fecl and sharpening to go. Then beauty shots, finishing the sheath and shipping everything.
