Firstly, My trade with Corwin is taking forever! I don't know what the deal is, but neither he nor I have recieve the packages we shipped 3 weeks ago! We think it may be a customs problem b/c neither post office asked for customs forms. Any ideas?
Secondly, Kiy never responds to his email!!!! He recieved the knife I sent him, but the one he supposedly sent over a week ago isn't here. He won't give me an update nor will he answer any of my other questions about his new posts. He says in one of the posts that he doesn't get to BF often, and to email him instead, but aren't you supposed to respond???

Yes this trade is starting to disturb me a bit too. Jediknight here sounds honest and I believe he sent the knives. I've had problems where my package from the US has taken up to 6 weeks to arrive. On one occasion it was a Surefire Flashlight from a member here. It however, was not even opened by customs.

I do find it odd however that my knife never arrived there. I rarely have problems or even delays of more than 2 weeks of the knife arriving to its US destination from here. I too would like to know if you guys have any input on this one.

Haha, I guess that's one way to put it...
I can be patient and wait the two months. I have a new Mnandi to tide me over anyway.

2 months... woah. I guess its possible. well, if Jedi can be patient i guess so can i :)

Haha that's funny that you have a new Mnandi.. so do i.. just got it today.

this is why exactly I say CONUS only..I hate shipping to Canada and elsewhere..customs. exchange rates all other hassles aint worth it..
Ditto, although I WILL ship to Alaska and Hawaii, since they are still part of the USA...(Well, at least sort of.:D).

And guys...Don't give up on getting the package; Customs WILL send it along once they get tired of playing with it.

I have had excellent luck with Canada, Australia, and Denmark. My deal with Corwin99 was pretty quick.

Other than some slight delays in delivery, I have never had a problem receiving from or shipping to the US. I guess I have been lucky, because I have done this many times.

My trade deals in Canada have varied greatly.I had Vess to file work my cricket and it got back to me in 4 days. The longest was a trade with Vampre Wolf that took over 2 weeks.I am waiting on a SS Native from Canada now, been a little over a week.

Customs is not the post office. When I ran a post office, I had a lot of customers gripe to me about holding up their customs packages -- customs hadn't released them to us yet! Going by the condition when they did get to us, they hadn't played with them or even opened them. They just backed them up. It wouldn't be the first government organization I dealt with that was short-staffed.

One problem is storage. When packages come in, they probably sit in rolling stock, which is pushed against a wall pending its turn to be checked. When more work comes in, it gets pushed in front of the older packages, and so on and so on, until the backlog gets cleaned up, newest work first, oldest last ... yeah, I know it's dumb. I've seen it in the PO, too, when we didn't date-tag the rolling containers.

Patience, patience. No sense getting upset over the inevitable. (We're from the government. How can we help you?) When the knives arrive, the sun will shine again! :D

I've shipped knives all over the world and I haven't had any "serious" problems. (knock on wood) Yeah. . .a few lack luster deliveries but they all arrived safe and sound.

The biggest problem that I found is that a few of the receivers were slower, to respond with confirmation e-mails, than the Postal Service was in the delivery of the box.

On the other hand. . .if you didn't affix a customs form on the package. . .it's definitely held up in "Customs !" A release can take anywhere from 4 - 12 weeks (and sometimes longer). . .depending on how busy the "Customs" folks are.

As far as the other party not responding to e-mails - that's unfortunate ! But, it doesn't necessarily mean that he's ignoring you. There maybe some personal or business issues that prevents him from responding. Something to think about.

I can empathize with your frustration. . .but give it some time. . .

I think that we can all attest to the phrase. . ."Waiting on the arrival of a knife SUCKS ! ;)

I've done a number of international trades, and I have to admit that considering that Canada shares a border with us, it is way too slow to ship anything there. Doesn't make much sense, but there it is.
DONE WITH PLAYING WITH IT?!?!?!!?! I can just seem them now, they're own little post office passaround....
Man, that's funny! :D I can just see two Canadian Postmen (looking like the McKenzie Brothers) flicking that knife:
"She's a sharp one, eh?"
"Oh yeah...beauty. Whaddya suppose this costs, eh?"
"Hey, if you need some help with that cord, use this knife!" :D geegee

I think that since Canada legalized pot that shipping packages might take longer due to more scrutiny by customs. Does anybody know if they are building a fence up there yet?

The problem is definatly with the customs slips! 90% of the time when you don't fill 1 out the item stays in their confiscation bin until a proper slip is provided.
List things as a "TOOL" with a value of less than 10.00 bucks and you won't have any problems. hope this helps and good luck guys. Ron

Seems as though the mail has gotten really slow lately for anything other than priority. The Military back spacer Ron sent me on the 18th still isn't here and we are only 4 hours away from one another.

You must mean the U.S., because Canada would never try to keep anyone out. As far as that fence is concerned I think the U.S. is waiting to see how the wall Israel is putting up works out. {I hope everyone knows that I'm just foolin' around)

lol can you just see it... 5000 miles of fence :)

I think shipping between Canada and the US is usually good.. but lately i've been shipping and receiving a LOT of stuff... i guess one of them was bound to be hung up :(
