to clear up my test of the leek as compared with the buck may i mention that i concluded the leek was correctly heattreated & cut very well. the blade had a cant but i did'nt intend to keep that knife ,i only bought it for test purposes. the buck had a very slight edge retension advantange. i do'nt wish to get into a big argument about bevel thickness, blade geometries & etc. i base my conclusion on many years of cutting cardboard & while members may question my procedures i can state that knives that will cut cardboard 12 or 13 minutes will always gut & skin 3 texas whitetails . this fact has been validated for close to 30 years by quite a few hunters in texas. i realize that whatever tests i perform that many kershaw fans will choose to question. my black spydie millie tested last year would probably not cut as well per inch as the leek. the millie was slightly passed by the buck which tested at 59.6 rockwell opposed to millie at 58 rockwell. most s30 i've seen from spydie tested in the 60.0 rockwell range. we thought the heat involved in the black millie coating caused the lower figure & it could have just been a slight cull in the manufac. process. i guess i could order another cpm d2 from kershaw & run another test but after the purchase of 3 new kershaws i do'nt wish to spend the money at present. anyway with the atmosphere presently dominant i think any tests by myself would be fruitless in communication.--dennis
