20"inch SHER Chiruwa AngKhola (my first HI order) - succesfully delivered!

Man that is a thing of beauty N-Kami-Kabinet-Dog. I wonder the stories behind it. Perhaps the whole was a bullet that just missed the previous owner LoL.
Seriously though I like the ferrule, much cleaner look for a lanyard. and swinging something that big you sure want it solid in your hand, otherwise you might be showing your stump instead of your foot next time.

Hello guys

I am back, with my first thoughts and brief review (without pictures yet,as no photobucket set up at this moment)

As i was recently very busy, its been over 2weeks since i had this opportunity to hold in my hands this truly unique Himalayan Imports masterpiece made by kami Sher. After opening and revealing this secret, hidden inside of so awaited "triangle box",i can now fully comprehend and understand how beautiful and truly high quality khukuri is made by HI.Overal fit and finish of this massive chopper is done with excellent precision and to be honest, really left me speechless! I have never held in my hand any knife of this magnitude!!! Knife is actually longer, it is about to reach 21" in length, with extremely thick blade, razor sharp (as requested) zero ground convex edge,,,blade and edge itsself are made with detailed precision, mirror polished.Handle is so beautiful, that it really stands out and highlighting overal look of the knife, its shiny, polished buffalo horn black coloured but mixed with brown and white coloured horn colour on few spots, this make handle to be really rare and individual... Yellow brass fittings are very well made, tight and fits perfectly,so as overal feel of the handle is like tailor made into my rather large hands.Brass is also shiny and polished.

Scabbard/buffalo hide is made of top quality and intact material/leather piece is made perfectly, there is simply no single spot anywhere, which would be showing any sign of imperfection, its appearance even when looking into every detail is just perfect! Leather is stiched together tight and evenly all around on the back of sheath....Only drawback is,that heavy 20"CAK is slightly loose, while sheathed, blade is not fixed inside and is sliding from side to side inside the sheath,i guess, this can be fixed by inserting some material inside (piece of leather or so,,,maybe some of you may have idea of how to tighten the space inside)

What impress me very much too,is fit and finish of small utility knifes-Karda&Chakmak, compared to my previous khuks, these are made of robust, massive pieces of steel and also good chunks of buffalo horn, both are very sturdy and really nicely finished thick knifes,Karda is razor sharp, well made,so as Chakmak. Both have beautifully polished horn and fit perfectly and nicely in the sheath compartment.Chances of loosing them are very small as they are seating inside very tight...

Frog system is perfectly made, stiched, but with one drawback, for this heavy duty chopper its belt loop is made of thin leather strip,(thicker piece would be more appropriate),overal appearance of all knife and sheath,is simply flawless with extremly well made and mutually friendly composition of high quality, top notch materials....

20inch CAK from HI will really take your breath away,i would definitely and highly recommend to all those people, who fancy massive, thick blades and may think, they have a strong knife allready...i can guarantee you guys, this knife from HI will quickly make you reconsider of what term "strong knife" really means.....

P.S.photographs and some practical tests are yet to come, thank you for your time.

Sadly,i can not upload any pictures into this forum,(bladeforum) as posting pictures here is major downside to i, i guess admins of blafeforums have a lot to catch up with-in this matter, compared to other similar sites...

You need to use photobucket. Upload them to photobucket. Then copy and paste the "IMG" link photobucket provides you with each picture. Paste the address into the URL link which is located next to the little tab that looks like a movie film strip.

You are almost there, you just forgot to click the URL link and pasting it into that line instead of the main body of then post

You have to have a paid membership to upload pictures to the site. Anyone may use a pic hosting site though.

There is few pictures guys for you, hope it will be visible for you to see (it worked through this film strip only, designed for uploading videos)

It's a dead sexy beast!

I am glad you like it Gurkha, thanks also to Steve! -In some photos i put ordinary pen next to it,just for size comparison...I like very much about this HI khukri, that HI is making sure their products are not only well designed for functionality, but it is obvious to me,they make sure the overal finish of all materials is really detailed and superb.I love this high gloss polishing of blade and handle, however it is told by number of bladesmiths that mirror polishing may result in edge retention being decreased, thanks to heat during this proces. I believe this will depend mainly in system of polishing and that HI have its own way,how to finish their products to such a beautiful piece and still making sure, final blade quality is so unique...
