I saw in a post from Jeff that about 200 pieces had been shipped on the RC-6. Well, who are they?

Post if you have received your RC-6 and when. Get a picture up if you can!

I will be the first.

RC-6 received early October 2008.

I love it.

I will get a picture up later today when I find my digital camera cord and get outside for a few minutes.

I have to be honest about the RC-6 sheath. I like it from handling it in general. The Tec-loc sits a bit high and against the retention side on the spine side of the knife but I can deal with that. The knife rides a bit higher than I expected but for a 6" bladed knife I can deal with it. Now, here's the honesty part - when I put it on today to wear on the belt while walking in the woods with my son, the knife was extremely difficult to get out of the sheath. Even with firm pressure on the sheath from my thumb. I really had to pull and change the angle of the sheath to get it out. My thumb is a bit "hot" from the force needed to get it out of the sheath when belted. I know it's stiff when not belted but it was just difficult when the RC-6 was belted. I honestly like the RC-4 sheath a lot more.

The RC-6 is top notch though - I'm really impressed with the knife. I like it as much as my RC-4.

I got mine in late September, no pics yet, but I have used it around the kitchen. Love it a ton! Now I need another Rc-4

I'm always an honest reviewer and the "functionality" of the sheath was really bothering me. With that, I just spent some time with it and want to add to my review of it.

First, I still like the RC-4 sheath more. That being said, I do like aspects of the RC-6 sheath like the positive lock in and general design.

I spent some time drawing the knife and it's changed my opinion a bit. When I draw the knife like I "want" it right now, as in rapid deployment or as if I was drawing it for defense, it snaps right out and I don't notice any effort spent on it (other than it rides up in the Tec-loc on the belt). Then it seems effortless - a good quality, akin to drawing a firearm.

I would contribute that to me and not putting that application on the draw.

But if I try to draw it slowly it is almost a no-go, high-tension exercise with discomfort to the thumb. It just doesn't seem there is an "easy" draw feature with the sheath - and I'm fine with that with the retention "snap" and carry feature.

I'm still not quite happy with the single strap Tec-loc set-up on the spine side and I'm interested in trying the large Tec-loc as shown in Mike Fitz's second picture.

Regardles, Jeff, Mike and Shon turn out a top-notch blade and I'm happy to be in one of the first groups of RC-6 owners. The wait was worth it.

RAT Cutlery comes through again. Now I just have to wait on the RC-5 SERE...

I wasn't really satisfied with the Molle lock setup on the sheath. Due to the shape of the sheath (hinge hits against the swelled part of the sheath for the handle), I had to place the locks about halfway down and it rode way too high for belt use and the locks were spread too far apart to use on the Molle straps on my pack (Falcon II.) The TekLok works out nicely though and with the shim adjusted I can put it securely on a belt without it sliding around and it fits through the wide Molle straps on the pack.

I'd like to see a Molle back for the RC-6 sheath soon or substitute a TekLok for the Molle locks. If that's not possible, the hole spacing on the sheath could be changed to allow mounting the Molle Locks to ride higher without hitting the extended part of the sheath.

Just my 2 cents.

My RC-6 was waiting (patiently, due to todays traffic) for me in my mailbox when I got home this evening. This is my first knife of this size and my initial impression is that it is a very happy medium between the really large choppers and the smaller, more typical "bushcrafty" knives that fall in the 3-5" range. I can't wait to get out and use it.

I've had my two since early Oct. Fonly's fondling #2 at the moment :D

I got one too. Ordered it Sunday and had it Weds. I really like the looks and feel but haven't used it yet. Don't know how to post pics but mine looks just like Tony's!:D What about turning the teklok the other way? I have it turned upside down on a couple of other knives just because I find it easier to put on and off my belt for those quick walks in the woods (I live in the country). All in all I like the knife. Very light feel to me for a larger knife like it is. Think I'll keep it! :D:thumbup:

Is there a backing like for the RC4 and RC3 that will become available? I love the cordura backing on both my RC4 and RC3.

Yes, we should have a MOLLE back available before too long. It will be an optional add-on that we will sell from our site.

I got my two on Nov 22, great blades. I made a "drop down" for my sheath out of kydex which has worked well so far.
