200: RC-6 - Who are they?

Well I just couldn't help myself. I just pulled the trigger on an RC-6 from cumberland knifeworks. It was a tough choice between it and the RC-4. But I had some concerns about the handle size on the RC-4. I should have it by the end of the week.

Well I got mine today wich was super fast...thank's Derrick btw, the knife is absolutly great but I won't test it untill the week-end. On the other hand the sheath is also great but the color heurk!!! so I had to do something about it....

Ordered mine in August and nothing yet despite repeated "We were advised last week that our order had been processed and posted so it should be here sometime this week." its been the same story for the last few months.

I really hope its here before christmas.

I should be picking mine up this morning at the post office. I acant wait to see how it performs.

Mulga, maybe you should look at other options and another dealer? Also maybe contact RAT for some advice and/or help. That seems like too long to wait... I have a brand new one that I won't be using anytime soon. (Yes, I like the knife a lot but this size knife don't get much use by me and I can easily replace it more toward spring. I have had a rat-7 D2 for about 3 years and have not cut a thing with it) Anyway, shoot me a pm if interested. I have a paypal acct. I've never shipped over seas but can maybe figure it out if it would help you? I would have sent PM to you but it wasn't an option, you must have turned off?

Just picked mine up a little while ago.

First impressions are that it is a great knife.

I attempted to set up the molle clips for horizontal carry and it would only allow me to use two of the ofur screws. I didn't consider that very secure.

Since I didn't want as high of a carry as cmndr249 set his sheath up for. I mounted my clips throuhg the top rivet, and then drilled holes to match the lowest hole location on the clips. The modification worked great and give a very secure strong side carry. Now I just need to go get some blue loctite to make sure the screws don't come undone.

I'll write a review soon as I get out and use the knife for a while.

I am impressed.

As to the handle. One of the reasons I chose the RC6 over the RC4 was handle length. After having this knife in hand and comparing pics of the RC4. I am glad I purchased this knife for the handle fits my hand perfectly, and the Rc4 handle would likely have been too small for my large hands.

The edge that the knife comes with is fantastic, and after I stropped it a little it is tremendous.

This is my first RAT product and will not be my last. Great Job guys.

If you continue to have issues, there is a RAT Cutlery dealer in AUS...

JDee is a very knowledgable guy and very easy to work with.

Mine's up for sale in the exchange.

It's a great knife, but I am buying ammo now and can rebuy knives later.

Mulga,

Please let me know if you don't receive it soon. Sorry about the delays.

Jeff

Boats: you're paranoid, mate :D

Comparison with other knives

RC-6
The RC-6 is a great knife. other knives in the photo are Bark river, cold steel
and benchmade

Top notch quality compared with the other knives.

I ordered from Knifes Ship Free and got fast service, will order again from them.

Recieved mine last week. Had a Spec Ops sheath lying around. I was hoping It would fit. Yay it fit.

I like the plastic sheath, but I'm not liking the color. I'm probably going to practice some Rattle can camo painting.;)

Does anyone know if this sheath will also fit a Ranger RD-6? The sheath that came with mine is awful and since the RD-6 and the RC-6 are almost identical in size I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone. :)

I just received my RC-6 today, 2 weeks after I ordered it, in the Netherlands. It's my first Rat Cutlery knife. The knife just looks so great! Can't wait to actually use it in the forest! But that has to wait for a while because there aren't any real forests over here..

Took me also quite a while before I came up at RC. But when searching the internet I only heard good stories about RC and the price/quality relation is just great so the choise was easily made. Been also already a few months on this forum and I only heard great stories.

So many thanks for the persons behind RAT Cutlery from the Netherlands and I wish you the best in the future and keep up the good work!

Best regards, Erik Hartman
