2003 Wolverine Knife Show - Novi, Michigan

Tom

Great show!

As a resident of Northern Ontario, it was the first knife show of any size I've ever been able to attend. Now can put some faces to names, such as Mike Sastre and Eric Noeldechen (Normark) when I'm thinking about a sheath. I got to meet Jot Singh Khalsa, handle some of his beautiful (but expensive) knives, and check out his knife related jewellry. Finally, I bought one of John Greco's Flat Ground Falcon Folders and got to talk to him about how it was made, how to tune it, etc. Magazines and the Internet can't compare.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if there will be some good microtech representation there this year? I think it was two years ago that there was a guy, I think he sold on blade auction under the name steel city or something. He had a few huge cases of all kinds, cfos, chameleons, micro-mini halo IIs. Last year stunk, evidently someone cracked down on all things spring.

I am SOOOO glad someone revived this thread. I am putting those dates on my calander, and I will be there! Novi is not far from me at all!

Thanks for the information!

PAUL

Happy Holidays All!!

Hi Sesoku. I suspect you will see more Microtechs this year. Not nearly as many as two years ago. I remember that table. I've never seen that many Microtechs in one place, awesome. Yes, someone did drop a dime on the dealers at the show. Bummer really. I know they were there last year because a friend of my picked up a nice LCC. The fall show this year, although small, had a decent representation of Microtechs this year. Keep in mind even though you might not see something on a table doesn't mean there isn't any. If you build up a good repore with a dealer and he know's you're cool, your bound to see some other goodies. Also, put some feelers out to see if your favorite dealers will be at the show, most of the time they will brings some things for you to check out.

Hey Paul, glad you found this thread too. The Wolverine show is pretty awesome, and gets better every year. But, DON'T put those dates on your calander. The Wolverine show will no longer be at the end of January.

The dates for the Wolverine Knife Collectors Club 2004 show are as follows:

Friday, April 23, noon-8:00
Saturday, April 24, 9:00am - 6:00pm, auction 6:30-?
Sunday, April 25, 9:00am - 2:00 pm

So, what does that mean? Get your taxes in early so you can use your returns to buy knives. :D

I'll probably put separate 2004 show post up soon, because most of the knife rags and sites still show the January dates.

If anybody has any questions about the show let me know and I'll try to answer.

Take care,
Tom

Dealers can display autos for sale to LEO's (the laws changed in 2003), so there's a reason to have them on the table. Once they're on the table...

Damn...I gotta wait til April! Oh well...

thanks for the update.

See ya'll in april!

:D

The reason for the move is parking. I have been there the last threee years. There is another hall next door to the knife show hall that was having an antique firearms show at the same time. Parking flat out sucked. With just the knife show it should be no problem. Anyone looking for a seriously great auto look for Phil Booth. Maybe not one of the big name guys, but you wont find a more beautifully made knife. Just my 2cents.

Actually, the people causing the parking problems wanted the whole facility to themselves, so show dates had to be changed. Great show and I wouldn't miss it for anything!!

TMAC,

How's the Dragonslayer?

What's the deal!?!?

How can you guys call it the "Wolverine" knife show, if you aren't going to hold it here in Ann Arbor?? PPPPSSSSSSHHHH!!!!

Hey Mike! How's it going man. Yep, the Dragonslayer still gets to nuzzle by my side. The Southern Comfort makes the package perfect. Talk to you soon.

Midget, yea, AA would be cool. Hey, where else would a Wolverene hang. But, you can't beat a show in our back yard. See you there.

Take care,
Tom
