2005 Wolverine Knife Show - Novi, Michigan

Hi Guys,
My Wife and I will be there.I can't wait.I have been working on last minute stuff all week.We will have to find a Restuarant that isn't afraid of a few knifeknuts passing around their Hardware for show and tell.
Mickey

I was going to say that knives being passed around by shady characters in Detroit is nothing new, but then remembered that Novi is a little more suburban than that! :D

Well, this might be my first knife show! I missed the Canadian Knifemakers Guils show, but I am most likely going to get to this show! I can hardly wait, if I only had more money... :D

I am going to be there. I need to chat with Mr. Kim Breed. Hopefully I will have more than one example of my work on me for him to critique.

I would love to hear what anyone has to say about my work, so if you see a guy walking around with a Carolina's Panthers cap on, and he looks like Dan Ackroid, stop me and say hi.

I am looking forward to seeing and meeting a bunch of fellow forumites.

Later-

Four more days and a wake up.....

Mickey!! I'm working on a resturant. Looking forward to seeing you. I've got some "toys" to share with you. Provided I can get some more time on the lathe and mill.

Dr. Thor: See you there.

Laredo7mm: Nice stuff on your site. I'd look forward to talking Mokume with you and seeing your items first hand.

Take care,
Tom

It's looking good for me on Saturday!

Great!

How'd the surgery go? Or the recovery now?

See ya,
Tom

Surgery was a breeze, recovery has stunk. Never thought it would be this hard not having use of my main hand. Back to the office today, and just putting socks on this morning was a challenge :)

But I'm looking forward to playing with knives!

I cant wait for Saturday, Its gonna be fun! I should be easy to spot, the guy in the brown Utili-Kilt.

Great show, I like to go on Fri. & Sat. I live 9 miles away. If you plan on attending Sunday, go early. quite a few vendors pack up early. I'm sure you'll enjoy the large variety of knives, and the good people you meet. I never miss it. See you Fri.

Cpirtle, check around your area and see if you can find any chiropractors doing cold laser therapy or low level laser therapy. Some PT's may do it under a doctor's license, too. Not sure if it helps recovery, but GM did a study showing 70%-ish better improvement in CTS when using laser therapy, so it'd be worth looking into. Hopefully we'll run into each other at the show!

Thanks Chiro, I'll check into that!

Since no one looks up at a knife show, if you're looking at a table and see this, you'll know who you're standing by ;)

One more day and a wake up...........

cpirtle: Thanks quite a bear paw you've got going on there. But, you've got room for some kind of hidden pop-out dagger now.

Tmac Out :p
(sorry)

Tmac, I was thinking the same thing. Should fit himself up with some cool Wolverine claws or something...! For those who are attending on Friday, please leave some good stuff for us poor shlubs who can't make it until Saturday...:D

I am planning on taking my sons Saturday. I've been to several gun shows, but never a true knife show, so I'm looking forward to this. I have also never been to the Novi Expo Center, although I live only ten minutes away.

Does anyone know what the "security" procedures are at the Expo? Specifically, are there metal detectors (I don't really see how there could be) and/or any signs prohibiting concealed firearms?

I appreciate the help, and look forward to meeting some/any/all of you tomorrow.

Ron

O.K. kids I'm off to the show. I'm wearing tan kakis and a blue polo shirt. Stop me and say hi.

RS2: I've worked plain clothes security at the show for a number of years with no metal detectors as of yet. I carry there with no problems. See you tomorrow.

Take care,
Tom
