Peyton,
Yes, the etch would be similar to that one.

Eric

I know I'm going to get out-voted, but that's OK. :)

Mammoth Ivory, scroll, no blade etch.

Karl5, you and I can hold back the tide. ;)

I just like plain. No big deal either way.

Used to love filework all over the place, now I just like it inside. Gives the maker a chance to show off finishing work better.

Example. Gene Shadley's work on backsprings makes the back of the knife look like one piece of metal that is cooler to me than file work on the back of the knife.

I think Buffalo Horn would look beautiful, but Mamoth Ivory sounds nice and exotic.

Blade etch sounds good- a comemorative like this should bear an etch.

Scroll work-
Buffalo Horn- I say no-go. Nice smoothe black handles and smoothe nickle silver bolsters look good together, IMHO.

Mammoth Ivory- scroll engrave it. Nice touch of class.

BTW, I like the selected pattern. I think I'm going to have to get in on this buy ;)

Got to save a few pennies somehow.
Why skimp on something that you're only going to ever have one of? It's not like you're going to be able to get another version if you decide "it would be so much nicer if ...". It's special, like a nice meal. Go ahead and get dessert. :)

(Not that there's anything wrong with your choices, mind you...)

Giraffe bone, (tho I will certainly be happy with mammoth bark ivory). Scroll work yes. Blade etch yes

Mammoth ivory, scroll work on the bolsters and the blade etch work for me.

Mammoth ivory, no scroll, with etch. Is the mammoth ivory the outside part (bark) or the interior (smooth/cream,white) either whould be great imo.

I' ll have to get back to them on that glamdring and rosconey2, they didn't specify like they did with the ram's horn. My uneducated guess would be interior considering exterior slabs can run from $80 and up per knife for 5" pieces.

Eric

I'll be different. Exterior ram's horn, scrolled yes, etched no. (But, giraffe bone and mammoth ivory are my next choices. So, I think I can live with MI. ;) )

Appreciate the work on this.

Wow. I was going to abstain until I realized we were getting D2. I'll vote for the ivory, with scrollworked bolsters but skip the blade etch.

Cool.

Considering it would get used, scrolling would just get abused around me.
