"2008" A VERY GOOD Year?

yay Keith! Make it happen!
CKCA members only show...

Why would we want it to be a CKCA members only show? Keeping it to Makers having to be members of the CKCA is a good idea. That would keep it small enough to be manageable, and would support the makers that support the organization.

It wouldn't make any sense for those attending the show to have to be members. However, giving members free admittance would probably be a good idea.

I am treating your comment as serious, even though I realize that it is sarcastic. I feel it is better to reply the way I did, than to reply in kind.

Very true Keith.
Considering our impressive list of CKCA member makers, it would be quite a show.

We will soon announce shows were CKCA members will receive free admittance/VIP status to go along with the CKCA group discounts our members already enjoy such as discounts on collector's insurance and knife photography. You can visit our website "membership discounts" page for details. http://www.customknifecollectorsassociation.com/Member_Discounts.html

To borrow Coops's phrase "it doesn't cost to be a CKCA member, it pays".

I didn't mean to convey any sarcasm with my comment, nor to ruffle feathers. If so, and if I were a jerk, I would have followed it up with one of these; :jerkit:

It was a serious suggestion, (well, not too serious, more just throwing an idea out there) based on creating value for ckca members by offering a prestigious, members-only yearly event. Might encourage more people to join ckca, too. A $50 entry fee would take care of that!

I'm not a member of ckca, and have no stake in any of that, just floating ideas out there as they come up.

As a rule, when I use mild forms of sarcasm, (the only sarcasm you'll read from me) you'll be able to tell because I used one of these; ;)

:)

No problem Lorien as we appreciate all comments and ideas.
When you are ready to join just let us know. :)

...constantly striving for more clarity in my posts...
:o

no worries, Keith, my bad! :)
