2008 Forum Knife Delivery Thread

There was a protective coating of oil which doesn't help the picture.
I am very pleased with the knife. I prefer a larger stockman, but this one is nice. It is just a bit smaller than a #48 whittler by Queen.

James, thanks for the link. I agree, Sean should receive #1.

Ed, the pics are great. The knife looks perfect, and I love the arrowhead/stag combination. The size is perfect for me as well. Well worth the wait, IMHO.

Looks great Ed. I think Sean should get #1 also.

Thanks Ed.

I am very happy that so many of us agree Sean should get number one.

Take you time and enjoy the task. None of us are going to be hurting for another knife in a hurry.

If the knife does not fit the sheath that is in the box, perhaps we can talk some sheath maker to make a special one for it and replace the one I sent. Check to see about the fit.
Thanks,
Jim

I also agree, it's a very nice gesture to send #1 to Sean.

Ed, thank you so much for pulling this together. Based on your comments and the pictures, I am really happy with our Northwoods selection for the 2008 knife. Thanks again.
Jay

Not to be accused of lollygagging......

They will go out in the morning!

Ed, what a fast turnaround! I hardly expected such a quick departure from your home. Is it hard to send so many lovely knives away so quickly? Anything to say about overall F&F, consistency, etc., now that you've handled them all?

Again, a huge thank you for taking on this project. Things are a bit leaner here than a year ago, so it's really nice getting something that was paid for some time ago.

A Big thank you for all your work. We appreciate all the time you put in. I am sure I speak for everyone. Such a quick turnaround, never expected it, but thankful for it.

Well, I was careful not to handle them. I took the boxes out of the shipping box and stacked them on the table and started packing them. I have only seen two of them (#1 and #30) and I am pleased with them. There is a bit of a seam on one of my scales, but very acceptable for me for a production knife.

Of interest was the difference in scales between the two. #1 had very thick scales with fewer grroves. Much more like toward the tine on an antler rack. It had the effect of a swelled center of grip and a thinner bolster.

Two different interpretations of the same material, both of them very nice. I hope this means that you can look forward to a mystery.

OhboyOhboyOhboy:D
Many thanks for all your hard work:thumbup:
(BTW, I notice my name is still in blue on the list on page 1 of this thread - I'm pretty sure I emailed & you replied. Being as my memory isn't what it used to be, if you don't have my updated address please let me know.)
Thanks again,
Berk

I emailed to confirm. I won't send until it is confirmed.
I am pretty sure I have the right one.

Great news Ed! You're apparently much more organized than I was :D

#1 for Sean for sure:thumbup:

Sorry to repeat myself, but...

Christmas is over and the next year will be choice.
Soon with my forum knife I will rejoice.
Ed handled all the work and shipped the knives out to.
I say three cheers to Ed, so how ‘bout you?

I had the boxes ready in advance, so it was pretty swift work. All have shipped except one. Neeman, as soon as I hear back, yours will go to.

All went via priority mail. Tracking and insurance was placed on the CONUS packages. The international packages were insure under the priority shipping for up to 62 dollars. Customs forms indicated a pocket tool.

Whew. Glad that part is done. Now I just want to see other's knives!

Ed
