2009 Buck Catalog

The Vantage Select is also a smaller version than the Vantage Avid. So maybe its a size differentation too.

AVID models can also be 420HC
The 110,119 so on are Avid models and still use 420HC
Yes there are some models avalible in 154cm mostly in PRO

I went back and looked more closely at the new offerings and the New BuckLite Max is very nice too.

·420HC steel blade
·Thumb stud
·Black glass reinforced nylon handle
·Stainless steel pocket clip
·5" closed
·Made in the USA

I can see why CJ and his dealers are excited about this years new offerings. There looks to be a lot of good new products that are focused on what people want and at a great price points. "A thumb stud on a BuckLite" you gotta love it!!!!

I like the lines of the new BuckLite too. As is being talked up on another thread, it's great to see all these new US made models at what looks like great prices!

The Bucklite look ok... I just wish they would have used some different steel... Like S30V, 154 or something different... I'm sure I'll have to give in and buy one or two... I don't care to much for the Logo at all... ...

If you call me, I can give you an overview of the new 2009 catalog offerings. You may email me for a phone number but please do not email me specific questions as I just do not have the time to type a lot of long replies. Dealers received the 2009 catalog about two weeks ago. BCCI members have my contact information in the club newsletter.
There are some very cool new offerings, especially in the hunting and Legacy (formerly Limited Edition) categories.

I gave Larry Oden a call as he suggested. Now I can't wait to see all of the cool new stuff. I think the secrecy is so no other company can steal (copy) Bucks Ideas before the big roll out at the Shot show.

Its definately worth the phone call! ;) TONS of cool new knives! Now I have a few new ones to look forward to as well :D

I can only hope a 2009 catalog arrives soon so I can spend the rest of my life savings :D (LOL)

Thank you Larry! Its always a pleasure!

why arent these on the website?

it will take Buck awhile to get these on the website, and some arent even available for sale yet.

Where can one buy a vantage?

Some other new models to dream about until they show up on store shelves:

Buck Paradigm with ASAP asisted opening technology available in S30V and 13C26. G10 or micarta scales and new Slide lock. Due out, according to the vendor web site, in August 2009. Looks cool.

EGO Hunter Pro with Buck gut hook ring.

Limited Edition Mayo TNT with Carbon Fiber handle :)

Messer,

Can you PM me the link to that vender? I'd really like to look at that Buck Paradigm a little closer.

I got an email for Smokey Mountian that my two Vantage Avids would due any day now and should be mailed out shortly.

Its an exciting new model year to say the least. g

I sent you an email Flatlander. Can't wait to hear your opinion of the Vantage when it arrives. I plan to order one in the next week or so.

I think I need to get a better look at that Paradigm as well! S30V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet knife! I hope the lock (bolster) works good! I dont need another catapult ;) LOL

That picture above is not the AVID...It is actually the ERGO Hunter
Here is the Vantage Avid:

·13C26 Sandvik™ steel blade
·Thumb hole
·Charcoal Dymondwood® handle
·Stainless steel liners and pocket clip
·4-3/8" closed
·Made in the USA

That looks like a good design. I have been wanting to try out 13C26, and this may just be the platform for me.

Anyone know if the Vantage is a "flipper"? It appears like part of the choil would protrude when the blade is closed so you could flip the blade open.

I can't help but think the Vantage line, with street prices ranging from $20 for 420HC - $30 for 13C36 - $50 S30V, will be great selling knives.

Yes it's a flipper. Feels almost spring assisted because of the snappy action. You might want to try it out.

LOL,

After talking with Larry, I already got that impression! LOL

I am glad that a few models arent available yet! I have some time to save ;)

What we decided to do was to give clear choices to our customers. 420HC with rubber or plastic = SELECT, 13C26 or 12C27 with Diamond Wood = AVID and S30V with either combo or G10 handles for PRO.

Performance requirements like edge retention as well as care and maintenance issues like rust prevention play a role as well. We wanted to make it clear and understandable and so far Retail loves it. Lets hope Consumers find it easily understandable as well.

Based on our success this might begin working its way back through existing products as well.

On a side note the new products are in the process of being loaded onto the website now. We delayed on purpose to better tie consumer information with when dealers would actually have the new product available. We had all in stock before Shot Show as our mantra this year is "flawless execution"
