If "Mikeymoto" can't do the receiving/shipping, I'd be more than happy to do it. I just don't have the connections to do the negotiating part.

I agree wholeheartedly with finding a manufacturer 1st &/or picking a pattern that's being made, but then adding "touches" to it, kind of like the previous BFC knives.

That's why I suggested a mini Trapper vs a Dogleg or Swayback Jack. While those patterns are great, it might be hard to get something done.

Also, I think the goal is to "try" to keep the price around $100 or so, as I'm sure if the cost goes way above $100, the # of people that'll buy it will probably go down, steeply. JMHO, of course.

I will go on the list as well for the shipping part or any other form of help I can be.
I also agree about the price, by keeping it about $100 we will get better participation.

1. Obviously, I can't choose(and don't want to) the fellas who pull the 2010 knife together, but I can say that Charlie(again, obviously) has the cred to make it happen, and Mikeymoto is well regarded in BladeForums.....so if the Traditional group chooses them, it should be a good fit.

2. The ONLY way to make the knife happen for less than $100.00 is to approach the manufacturer with a few options(ie, perhaps the top 3 suggestions) and see what they come back with. As an example, Case is the only company that produces a swayback around this price point as far as I know, but they will not do custom runs of less than 500 knives. This Queen knife we did for 2009 was TOTAL custom as far as features, but the handle pattern and clip blade were the starting point that was NOT custom.

I hope this makes sense.

As I mentioned earlier, I would like to see a remake of the old Schrade Walden Serpentine Jack. OAL is 3 7/8", Its got a really nice turkish clip, saber grind, with two swedges, and jigged bone scales, carbon steel. Here is a photo of the late 40's version.

Now that is a sexy knife!

In the unlikely event Beavers Schrade Walden serpentine jack is chosen, with the features that make that one special, I will be good for two of them and maybe more.

I'll cast my singular vote for a Canoe or Swell-center Moose (both Queen-made) - in Queen D2...or perhaps ATS-34 or CPM 154? Then again, a 4" Toothpick would be cool...

I'm in for anything after seeing the previous knives! I really like Canoes, Whittlers, Copperheads, Scouts, and Gunstocks...

Canoe would be nice pattern... But so would be Muskrat. I just wish blade is good old 1095 carbon or better, aslong its carbon. And I do hope we don't go for clip point blade for main blade. Spear point or drop point would be... different and I am not big fan of clip point blades.

One interesting would be carbon blade muskrat with one blade spear point and one would be drop point/clip point/ wharncliffe.

The choice is very large indeed of different patterns from Queen and S&M.
So the base of what we can choose from is very wide.

I'll support anyone who is willing to take charge of the 010 knife. The scout knife has my vote and I'd vote often if we can get it in a tool or carbin steel.

Someone mentioned a peanut before and I have to back them up. I don't think any pattern is shown as much love on this board as the peanut. Plus, there's tons of manufacturers that make them. My second choice would be a single blade trapper, preferably under 4". Make 'em black. Ebony or black micarta.

Charlie and Mickymoto it is. (With my support and the support of anyone else they want to draft.)

These are two well trusted guys and we could not be in better hands.

Closing this thread for now and when they are ready they can start the herding. :D.
