I like that a lot, Ken. I was looking at a traditional lockback in ivory last night by another maker and wishing I had one. Didn't swedge this one as much as usual? The threaded bolsters are a real nice addition.

Great looking lockback Ken!

Thanks guys! I do not do many lockbacks and they are a nice change of pace.

I put a subtle swedge on this one Mike. I thought it looked a bit cleaner.

Nice one, Ken. I like lockbacks!

Today I only have this one picture,it is a swayback jack with antique peachseed jigged bone, and ornate lightning bolt inlays. The knife is beautifully embellished, including Sheffield Exhibition grade bolsters.Dan was excited about the bolsters,he said he never did them before.
There will be two other swaybacks, similar with other scales of antique bone from Dan's exclusive stash.

He will have a gorgeous fancy pearl Dr. knife, main blade a spear & secondary blade a scalpel. Bill,if you see this you may wanna stop n see Dan :)

Some single blade teardrop folders, warncliffe blades,in pearl.Again, embellished with not your ordinary treatments.

And three Remington pattern knives,two 1143's & one 1153
These will have fluted bolsters! and more gorgeous old jigged bone.

If you are going, when you enter the Bose drawings,Dan is right around thier table (I think right next door)

PC & photo tech difficulties keep me from having more pictures, but if I get them before the show I'll be glad to add them.
Enjoy & happy Blade hunting,
-Vince

Hello to all. Here is another one that I will be taking to the Blade Show. It is one of my first lockbacks that I have built after visiting with Jerry Halfrich to learn how to make them. This one here is a prototype since it is the first one that I built of it and the pattern was something that I came up with. The handle shape came from an old Gerber lockback and the blade looks something like that of a Remington 1306 but with a swedge on it. Some will say it looks like a Lanny's Clip and yes that is true. This knife is 3 15/16'' closed, it is constructed out of 1/8" stock with integral liners and bolsters, pivot area milled relive and lock bar tab area milled relived to keep it form scraching, it has a pivot bushing, fluted bolsters, thong hole tube, double pinned shield and micarta that I jigged by my self. I have not come up with a name for it and I'm looking for one. Hope you all like it.

Great looking knife! I like the influence of the R-1306 very much.
Too bad I can't go to Blade...

Here's a two bladed Dr. knife from Dan,with a scalpel secondary blade, firey pearl embellished with fancy inlaid bars.
