Voted.....That congress jack with the pinched bolsters, long pull, lambsfoot main and pen secondary along with the wrap around spring looks like a proper gentleman's EDC piece.

Thanks for offering this to all, including newb's like me.

Wharncliffe trapper, one blade, bare-headed, bullocks shield, 3 3/4"

Wharncliffe trapper or Congress Jack are my choice. I voted Congress jack as it was more unusual..

Voted for the Congress Jack. I would like to see a vote for the shield when the vote is done for the handles. I like the blades as pictured and rat tailed bolsters would be nice too.

I will be on he sideline this year, so i will not be voting. However, I will post that i hope the Congress Jack wins!

I really like the blades on the congress jack at the beginning of the thread. That looks like a very capable and handy knife to me. I'm not too picky about the shield, but a long pull would be nice on the main blade on the final piece.

It looks like the wharncliff trapper is in the lead; I'm still in for one of those if it turns out to be the winner. I'd like it either single bladed or paired with a more traditional clip blade if it turns out to be the winner.

What?............ I'll buy you one of these when it's decided. So, get to voting!

Congress Jack, bar shield.

Kind of nitpicky, I'm fine with the sheepsfoot, but if it could be on the pointier end of the spectrum of sheepsfoot profiles that would be nice... I know there's always a little variation based on who makes it and what knife it is. But I'd buy it either way!

I voted sowbelly but also am leaning to the congress jack. Either way i'm in for one.

I didn't necessarily expect the All-American (Large) Stockman to win but am surprised at the little interest shown in it. Posts about Stockmans and Cattle Knives have always shown a lot of interst in this sub-forum.

Of course it doesn't count as a vote, but if the Stockman goes down (and it appears it will), I'd take a Congress Jack -- no preference for ringed bolsters or shields.

I agree Ed. The two I would have wanted are coming in last. I voted stockman and second I would have wanted the 2-Blade Sowbelly (Double-End Premium Jack). Really I just tossed the dice deciding between the two.

Flymon expressed my thoughts perfectly when he wrote:

"I voted Wharncliffe Trapper
Bomb or Federal shield
3 1/2" closed
2 Blades, Clip main w/ Wharnie 2nd (it won't work the other way around, unless you put the nail nicks on opposite sides, and that would be unusual in a bad way if you ask me)
Bareheaded"

So I also voted Wharncliffe Trapper. :D

I would have voted for the Stockman if I was voting for the one I liked the best. I voted for the one I thought could beat the Congress Jack.
It will be a shame if the two front runners don't get to square off directly. I know time is a factor, but pattern choice is the most important vote, I think anyway.

I too would like to see the two front runners square off directly as you said but then again, I think you are right about the time factor.

I agree with a square off of the two finalists, but then, everyone in 2nd place would feel that way. I was hoping a cattle knife would be in the final group. I love stockman, but I have a slew of them already. Might be a factor, with folks wanting a new different pattern.

yeah. as long as the knife in the poll is the the finished version .I reckon the committe should get the final say-they are after all doing most of the work.
Otherwise we'll still be polling how deep the jigging should be and the angle at which the shield pins are peined on Xmas eve.

We've already done a stockman, although it got shrunk to a middleman size, making it too small to suit me. This time, it sounded like it was to be the Queen #49/ Case 6375 size. I have a few that big, and seldom carry them because they are just a bit too large to be comfortable to me. I doubt it could have crowded out my old 8OT anyway. I voted for the Congress Jack, just to ensure we'd get something else.

Well, I voted large stockman, but doesnt look like it will matter... :P

Just the same, I'll stick with that, no punch.
