Figured I would start this thread to post up photos as I get knives ready for OKCA (Oregon Knife Collectors Assoc.) Show in April. If you are going to the show lets see your knives as well...

Here is the Table Chart, I will update it if you let me know where you are...

This is another Lorien Design. These just seem to jump off my grinder, I love making them. It is a great design Lorien!

Specs:
Steel: Aldo 3/16" 1095
OAL: 11"
Blade: 6"
Handle: Black and OD Green G10 (W/Tan Liner)
Pins: 1/4" Alum. Tube & Mosaic 1/8" Nickel

Ryan, that's a beautiful knife. Your ability to turn multiple handle materials into one so seamlessly is amazing. Totally sano.

Ryan, I didn't even know about it until last night when I read your thread. Then as soon as I looked it up I was excited to go. It's only about a 5 hour drive for me. I'd would have really liked to bring some knives down and get to meet some people I admire in person. It's not going to happen however. I'm a coach first and foremost. I coach football and baseball and the show is going to fall right in the baseball season.
 
That's too bad Michael. Would have loved to get to meet ya!

I have a couple set aside already for Oregon, but most are still hanging over my head at the moment! ;) Once finished, many of these will be headed for the OKCA show.

I've never left during a season but if I end up with some good assistant coaches I'm really thinking about taking off and driving down for the weekend. I'll let you know.
 
I will be there, looks like you guys got tables right across the aisle from me, so it should be easy to heckle you guys!!
Let me if either one of you need anything, I only live about 5 min from the venue. We can probably carpool so you don't have to rent a car.

Ben, really looking forward to it! What's you table number?

Ryan and I will have a car. He's flying into SF from Utah and has a car rented for us so we can drive up there from the Bay Area. We might need a couple bottles of whiskey though! :D:D Just kiddin' Good to know you'll be close by during the show. We had already planned on spending time watching each others tables so we can browse a little bit. Knowing me, any money I make selling knives will probably get spent on someone else's!:o

I am hoping Mark (Burl Source) sells out before I walk around... Looking forward to it Ben. Bunch of great people will be at the show.
 
Nice Lorien, Ryan...looks like a cool hamon on that one! How many knives do you plan/hope to have ready for the show?

Umm, you're lookin' at it Paul! Ryan ain't as quick as he used to be. He probably won't have his next knife profiled until mid May. That's the one he's going to bring to Blade:D
 
Haha, Wel Jonny I happened to finish up another one tonight.... (Almost done, need to work on the carving a bit more).

This is a Piece of Mike Turner's Chain Saw Blade & 1080 Powder with 1095 SanMai Core Damascus (That is a mouth full) Ironwood Handle with my first attempt at carving on the handle.

Thanks Paul, I am not 100% sure but would like to have 10-15 of my usual blades and a few special ones!
 
I will be table I13. Hate to break it to you Ryan but you guys are basically next to Mark, and it is way harder to pass up nice wood in person!!
 
Ben I met up with Mark at the Boise, ID show and came home with more than enough wood. Luckily my wife isn't going this time, she picked out half of it!

I know Jonny. I need to get a "On the Bench" Photo in the shop, maybe tomorrow.

Edit: I added a OKCA Table chart in my original post... if you are going to have a table at OKCA let me know and I will add you
 
Ryan, the table chart is a great idea! Looks like so far we're all close together.....cept for Doyle!:D He's out of our league anyway!

Yeah they obviously keep the RifRaf in the back and the serious ones in front! :D
 
How did you guys get tables all together? Well that's it...........the end of "Row J" as we know it. That letter will never be allowed spoken at future events. They'll skip from row I right to row K on the table plans from now on after what you guys will do to it. :p :)

Just kidding. You guys are the talent, I'm just the entertainment. Or maybe you guys are the talent AND the entertainment and I'm just empty table filler. :D

One correction on the map though, I'm table P-3, not O-3.....................and WHY is my name in pink?? :)

Hey John! First of all, that color is cranberry, not pink! I don't know if that makes you feel any better though.......:D

As far as the grouping goes, I talked to my buddy Dave Anderson, AKA Kershwayguy here on the forums, who is a die hard OKCA guy. He told me to send our apps in together with a note on top requesting to be next to each other. We did, and they obliged. The one thing we had to remember was to have the note on each application requesting to be next to the other maker. Otherwise, some newbie stalker could request to be next to his idol and bug the hell out of him for the whole show!:D:D

Bottom line, I think you've got the talent portion covered! I'm pretty good at comic relief in a pinch. Add a little whiskey and I'll make 'em forget why they even showed up in the first place!!;) Ok, I'm just kidding about that last part, we'll leave that up to Ryan!
