tough call.
whittler, rope knife and TL29 are patterns I'd like to try out.
I've always liked the doctors knife pattern.
the congress looks good, and I understand it's looking to be the pattern to beat - but voting for it would feel too much like giving in to peer pressure when there are other patterns I've been looking for longer.
That said, no I'm not voting for it, but yes I'll be buying one so long as the price doesn't go overboard.

You are both sorta correct.. studying the history of the 2008 it was made by queen under contract of Northwoods.

I voted Congress (Jack!). I understand the BF Knife is special no matter which pattern is chosen, but in looking over the list most of the patterns can be had right now (either new or on the 'bay), but have you seen a Congress Jack offered lately? I guess its relative uniqueness is what made it stand out to me ..... plus, it just looks like a cool knife to have! ;)

Congress
1st, Half Congress with a single spring, thin and easy in the pocket
2nd, Congress Jack 'cause that is seems what it will be

LESS than $100...Please

I hope it's a single-bladed knife this year - I voted Sodbuster (lambsfoot or Zulu blade would set this one apart) - maybe a nice ivory micarta or jigged brown or black paper micarta - that would give us something that usually is only seen in custom circles. A single-bladed sunfish would be second, if I could vote for a second.

I also voted for a single bladed knife, the sodbuster. I love mine and a BF edition would be really nice to have.

I really like the GEC Courthouse whittler I have. It's my second congress pattern knife. I'd love to see a Sodbuster with some really nice Cocobolo or Ebony wood handles as the forum knife, but the Congress is also a winner in my book.

I voted Whittler, simply because it is my favorite pattern. That said, I'll be happy with any of them.

some great choices. I voted for sodbuster, a single blade forum knife sounded very cool to me but I'm excited either way.

I have been looking at some of the lambsfoots out of Sheffield - that would be quite a knife!

I cast a vote for the Sodbuster because I like the single blade design. That being said I'm also partial to single spring knives like the half congress and half whittler. These ride in the pocket nicely and usually are up to most tasks I encounter on a daily basis. I still plan to purchase the forum knife regardless of what wins. A half congress with a wharncliffe main and pen secondary would be nice.

I don't suppose this congress knife will have 6 blades with 12 full etches, gold-filled, black lip pearl covers, pinched, threaded, rat-tail sterling silver flat bolsters with full coverage bulino engraving, no? Nah... probably too much to ask.

was a little hard to decide because ive handled some but not nearly all the patterns so its kind of shooting in the dark lol.
seems that i tend to favor single blade knives. ive recently acquired a sunfish and have become enamored with it so thats what i voted for because its an unusual pattern. a single blade sunfish would be even more unusual so thats what im going with.
