Good news Paul!
For me as well because that means they are getting closer to Germany, too :)

I have mine in hand now. Unfortunately it looks like I got the Friday afternoon/Saturday morning model. My pen blade was very thick at the tip, scratches visible in the micarta and the metal liners had small gouges that made the bolsters/covers look uneven. It is still a great looking knife, and I have since ground down the pen a lot so it can cut now, and it is meant to be used, but wanted to be honest about how mine showed up. Bound to happen to one or two of them. Still in pocket!

Thanks to all involved, very much appreciated and a great knife overall !

Last postal delivery today, but no Forum Knife. :thumbdn: Paul beat me to be the first placed European with this year's knife. But the weather has been very stormy lately and a Christmas backlog is inevitable. But at least the New Year will be greeted with a New Knife(hopefully...)

Yep, worked out pretty good. Kevin had overlooked my order. I called him Monday morning (16 Dec) to inquire about it, he put an address lable on it that day and it arrived today.

You and I are old school Ed. We know that nothing works better then making the phone call. I'm glad it worked out.

Yippee! It arrived yesterday to Scandiland, a 22 day voyage (but at this time of year it can be expected)

To be frank, I wasn't that struck with the pattern when the decision process was made, not really keen on Congress knives. But, this Forum knife has changed my mind, at least in Jack format.

PROS

Superb finish, it passes my 'braille test' totally. This is when I close my eyes and feel the knife all over to see if there are rough or sharp edges (apart from the blade or tang!) around pins, bolsters, shield, springs etc. This is worry stone smooth, a great indication of assembly quality. The tangs ride low, semi-sunk almost. Excellent pull on both blades not stiff but no way weak, should satisfy most tastes here. Nick access is extremely good, the Master is not obscured by the Pen blade and the cut-out on the latter is a quality touch. No blade play whatsover, springs totally flush open and closed positions (this is VERY important to me). Blades are sharp and well ground, Pen is nice and pointed - not always the case with many knives. The Rat-Tail bolsters are imposing, a major draw. The Master blade is properly long, I dislike knives with long handles and short Master blades, it looks ridiculous. This Congress is spot-on here. Finally, a very unusual and rare pattern, this is a real coup for the Forum to have persuaded a manufacturer to put out a scarce pattern such as this.

CONS
There are some really small gaps and I mean small when held up to strong light, so not quite as tight as the Forum 11 knife which on mine at least was flawless. These are apparent only to the very critical eye and are considerably less than on many other knives including my CASE/Bose Norfolk that certainly lets quite a bit of light in. The handle material may not be to everybody's taste, I might have preferred to have some grain in it as in linen micarta. However, it is a very nice off-white/cream colour and this is another first in Forum Knives. It also feels good on the knife.

Finally, many thanks to all who made it possible and to the workers at GEC who have made me very happy and proud to have this very beautiful knife. Hurrah!

Regards, Will

That is an excellent writeup Will. You should put it and a picture of your knife in this thread.

Mine were in today's mail. Very happy with both of them, thanks to everyone who had a hand in bringing these about.

It's about time to shut down this thread and unsticky it.

Have all the knives been shipped?
Is there anyone, aside from getout87, who has not received their order?
