I really missed the boat on the 2012 forum knife. I believe I had one of the small stockmans, marked Northwoods and made by Queen, I believe it was 2010? I was going to order one of the 2012 saddle trappers, but I dropped the ball, luckily, I am waiting on a trade for one of the SFO's for the traditional forum.

Any ideas for a pattern/maker this year? From what I've seen, even with the 2011 EO jack, the saddle trapper looks to be the best yet.

I'm hoping for the Congress Jack that I think was in second place, this past year. Something a bit smaller.

Sorry you missed this year's. It definitely was a good one, and my favorite, as well.

I am pretty new to the traditionals but really like my 2012 knife. How long has it been since a Barlow was made? I would like to see a Barlow or a whittler pattern like the courthouse whittler.
Looking forward to what they come up with for this year.

I should have my 2012 trapper the end of the week, from a trade. The barlows that Charlie designed are great. I don't know what they could do to excel on this pattern. I am not a big whittler or congress fan, but I would still like to see what GEC comes up with if they make one of those patterns for us.

If this year is anything like the '12 knife as far as functionality and quality, I'm in.
I've only gotten in on two of these, but both of them have been excellent.
Would love to see a high quality Peanut one of these days.

A barlow pattern would suit me if it was just a little larger than the traditional barlow that GEC sells. I am flexible on pattern choice but lean toward large pocket knives that you can get a good grip on when using. I hope when the dust settles, that GEC makes the 2013 traditional knife and I suspect they will.

I'm still for seeing a LARGE backpocket...a swell center whaler or rope knife (elephants toe nail, sunfish). :)

I'd like to see a small equal end cigar shaped jack with a main clip blade, and a small sheepsfoot or wharncliffe secondary blade. Actually, a small bottle opener/flathead(or can opener) instead of the small blade would be really cool, but it's doubtful that anyone would want that in a small jack. Something like the one pictured as my avatar... It should be abbout 3 inches or less when closed, and nice and slim for unnoticeable pocket carry. Add a bail and we're golden! :)

oh man I would love a BF peanut or backpocket. The 2012 has been carried every day since it arrived. Great stuff, can't wait to see what's next.

Actually, I would love to see a single clip blade 2012 forum knife (but I guess that would basically be the Lanny's clip?)

How about a Lanny's Clip forum knife? :)

I have not heard much on a 2013 knife - I assume Spark will do his usual great job of organizing and ordering etc if we are to continue the Traditional Tradition.

I would also love to see a high quality Peanut, as my desire for a Trapper was resolved with that awesome 2012 knife.

best

2012 is basically a lanny's clip with a wharncliffe blade lol

I really like my Lanny's Clip, but seeing as it is an annual collaboration, I don't know if they would make it a BF exclusive. If they did, it would be extremely expensive. I don't think they would use 154CM, maybe SS or CV. I wouldn't mind seeing a new Backpocket design from Case, if the fit and finish was of the CV quality. I like that Panama trapper, skinner backpocket and regular backpocket. Maybe if GEC came up with a Remington 1306/1303 pattern type, that would make a great single blade knife.

Any of those would be fantastic in CV as a forum knife, but I agree that it would probably be too expensive. I would love to get a Lanny's clip in CV!

I would definitely be on board for a peanut styled knife as well!

My idea - for a cutlery would be Schatt & Morgan or something like that. What do you think? I mean, we almost had Case, GEC and Queen Cutlery.

Just something I thought about in a silent moment...

I satisfied my desire for the Lanny's Clip with the Case/Bose collaboration. 154CM is fine with me.:D As stated above, the 2012 Forum knife is very similar in profile to the Lanny's Clip, with the added Wharncliff blade. Here's a VERY poor picture:

Schatt & Morgan is/was run by the people at Queen, since thats changed hands i dont know whats become of it... to my knowledge Case was always out of the question as they wouldnt/couldnt use the BFC tang stamp and the minimum quantities were way too high
I loved the GEC Eo jack we did in 2011, GEC have been great to work with from an art standpoint, done right by me

Thanks for the info :) Sorry, I didn´t know that. The broad-marked on your post: I agree with that, the 2011 EO Jackknife is an outstanding beautiful knife! I love mine, too.

My post above was just a thought, but if it´s not possible, it´s ok. :)
