2013 Kershaw Limited Pack showing up

I just picked one of these up to use as beaters myself.......Guy at Walmart said they are flying off the shelf

I grabbed a set at my local box store. Also bought the pack there last year. As for the knives I'm happy for $10 knives. Mine don't flip easily out of the box but I'm sure they will break in over time. I've purchased much more expensive knives that needed a break in period. So why wouldn't these?

I live in Austin and found them at the Cedar Park store near the gun counter.

ok sweet, I live in round rock and work in austin, i'll see if the nearest WM to my work has em. Otherwise a trip to CP will be easy.

Just snagged a pack :) Third time's a charm. I'm really stoked on these nifty little blades.

So what is Kershaw marketing position now: ZT catering to upscale market and Kershaw itself moving towards being a cheap brand of knives?
There is only so much you can stretch your brand to cover whole range and please everybody: it will break sooner or later!
That's why some bigger knife companies have more than one brand: customizing each brand to the market segment they want to target. Makes sense from my point of view!
Anyway, I have got too many knives already and will take a used quality knife over a new cheap low quality one any day!

I totally get what you're saying, Poez. But I guess it comes down to the fact that people buying knives at wal-mart don't care too much about their detent, or how much chromium is in their steel, or if the coating on their blade is black oxide or DLC.

Bottom line, it's a smart business move to throw these holiday packs together. I actually stopped by during my lunch break and nabbed a set. I don't mind these for beater knives that I don't have to think twice about using, or even stocking stuffers for friends who aren't as passionate about knives as we are. Anyways, here are the guilty parties: Freefall on top and Swerve on bottom :D

Copared to other Kershaws, these definitely feel cheap. The handles are the same material you find in the shuffle. Just thicker.

The action isn't easy, but can be opened with a wrist/flick action.

You can't confuse these models with other costing $40-60 from their lineup (leek, blur, blackout), but they are decent enough. They'll probably get tossed into the toolbox or trunk and forgotten until desperately needed.

My local WM had 6 boxes of these on the shelf and the worker said there was 10-12 more boxes in the back. Hea said they had been through 7 boxes of SOG Fasthawks though!!

The local stores here in Bryan/College Station didn't have them shelved, so I stopped at the small walmart in Caldwell on my way to Austin last weekend and, presto!, a full shelf of them. I flicked them all weekend then tweaked the pivots and body screws when I got home and now both fly out with ease, lock up rock solid and slice nicely through paper. The swerve is my new mail knife, the freefall is headed to the glove box and last year's brawler has been retired to the toolbox.

Awesome. I messed with the Freefall a bit when I got home from work. It feels much better but I still need some wrist action. The swerve is gonna take a bit more work. It's solid as hell, but sluggish. Not a dealbreaker for me

Ok so the lower the quality of the blade steel that wasn't even high to begin with and toss a 2 knives and a flashlight together , some people call it a bundle , others a waste of 20 bucks I understand why they do it and some people might like the deal but still, taking 2 semi quality knifed and lowering them for a bundle deal doesn't really seem like a deal to me

I wouldn't be caught driving a Ford Fiesta, but I drive one back and forth to work since it gets 45+ mpg while my shiney new F150 sits in the driveway. I drive that too, but only when I need it.

It's $20- go ahead and SPLURGE!!!

FWIW--I like the Swerve better than the Freefall.

I grabbed 2 sets- one for me and one for my son.
We both have other Kershaws and we know what we're getting with these.
I'm happy Kershaw covers the price/quality spectrum and I have a choice there of.
I will probably get more for stocking stuffers too.

Same here. In fact, I'm gonna go ahead and get the 8Cr13MoV version with the Speedsafe opening and the stonewash finish, while I'm content with just this version of the Freefall.
