2013 NYCKS - Knife Glamour Showing!

Kevin's folder is sold and he is not taking order now :(

thanks for uploading great pics

Great knives!
Coop - these images are super. I especially like how you presented the Van Neely Lile "Dual Front" commemorative above. You hit that one out of the park, my friend.

Does that Walker open by turning that knob in the pivit area? I just noticed that circular piece.

Buddy, Don, Frank, John: Thank you.

Jon, no that button just unlocked it when open or closed. No auto, and the big blue dial stays put.

I shot that for Steve D'Lack. He sent the image to Michael Walker, who then contacted me to thank me for a job well done and for the large file. :)

Buddy: That one surprised me with the clarity. That particular background worked well. Susan was holding a mirror off to the side for the core image guard reflection. It was a 'house of cards' getting all that to be well lit. :D

Thanks, Coop. Always glad to see the stuff from a show, especially via your images!

Wow Coop, you were a busy man looks like !!! Beautiful captures there sir, nice as always!!

Yes sir.
Thank you for sharing the pics.
Some Fine photos of some Fine blades.
However, not a one of these knives is intended to be used
except MAYBE the Fellhoelter.
All gorgeous safe queens. Nothing more.
My personal favorites are the black and blue Thorburn and
the Tom Ferry.
Yet again, nothing more than very expensive dust collectors.
I've never understood the point of a knife you can't use?!?!

Those are some fantastic pictures of incredible knives. Thank you sir for sharing. Cheers and Happy Holidays

They are all fully functional knives; Who says you can't use them?

As per usual your photos are incredible!!! Always enjoy seeing you Coop.

As to useability I have many damascus knives out in the field. I even did a set of three damascus fixed blade knives with meteorite bolsters for a customer this year who gave one to each of his sons for this past years hunting season. I am quite sure each knife was used for their intended purpose.

Many thanks, Coop !
Unbelievable imagery of superb knives.

I never said they can't be used.
I said they're not intended to be used.
Just like a Bugatti Veyron isn't intended to be your year
round daily driver.
Just like you don't get a chrome plated, gold inlayed,
ivory gripped 1911 and use it as your duty piece.
Just like you wouldn't get a set of gold plated wrenches
and use them as your everyday at the shop tools.
I currently EDC a Direware Solo V4 with a Damascus blade.
But it's also apparent that this Solo was built to be used.
Even with a pretty Damascus blade on it.
Just like it's apparent that these knives were not intended
to be used. They were made to be expensive shelf art.

Yes sir.

Thank you. I appreciate your comment and allowance on this. :)

This topic comes up again and again, and for you it's logical. OK. I'll jump right to the query we ALWAYS come back to which is telling: sawbone, how many handmade/custom knives do you own which are, say, over $1000? Like almost all of the above. Be honest. (I own probably 30).

After knowing this it forms my answer.

Thanks.

Jim

Honestly.
I currently own 2.
1 of which I haven't even taken delivery on yet.
I currently own the Direware Solo V4 with Damascus blade
which I EDC.
I own but it hasn't been delivered yet, a full custom Medford
Praetorian Ti.
I also have an order placed for a new Direware Solo V4 and
a new S-90. But those 2 don't count, technically, because
although custom knives, they aren't over $1000 each unless
they're purchased from the ridiculous secondary market.
Now, I'm interested to hear what answer or opinion this
formed for you.
