2013 Spring Gathering May 3,4,5

I finally got around in this heat and weather and I went about setting up my hammock with it's extras. I know how to throw up the hammock and straps fast and the bug net, but the rain tarp, is the stupidest thing I have ever tried to set-up.. Took 5-7 minutes for the hammock and bug net good and set, but about 20-25 minutes to set-up the tarp and have it at the right height, tightness, and various other things. If I wasn't planning on doing a few trips this summer, I wouldn't keep the dadgum thing. Hell, get soaked by rain, or cut my losses and have cash.. It's about the same feeling either side..

whelp. i was hoping i might make this one this year, but not going to happen.

next!

heck, i'll be lucky to make Blade show at this rate

it looks like i will be a gametime decision. I would still love to get down, but life may get in the way...or the 17 hour drive...one or the other.

i just hope that anyone seeing this will not change their plans now that they know i may not be in attendance. ;) :D

I need to know who's coming early.

We need the fire pit rebuilt and some firewood moved around.

Maybe some water and supplies hauled up.

Don't everybody jump up at once now.........

if i dont get lost i'll be there friday am about a 2.5 hour drive i guess i have the road name not the number but i suspect it will be easy enough.

Murph will be there Wednesday, already discussed with the boss as he will be filling in for me and Pointy, then Erik and Chris should be there Thursday-ish sometime.

I have my last final in Atlanta on Friday but will be up there about 5.5 after the test. If anything else needs to be done at that point count me in. My +1 is driving down from Chicago on Friday as well. If he gets there before me put his a$$ to work.

Ok, then.

Uncle E will make sure what needs to happen, happens. As long as there are some spare hands.

I can be there Wednesday if you need more help. I will be coming from Kentucky this time so it isn't as ridiculous of a trip for me.

Me and Psy should be there by noon on Thursday -- fire ring & firewood moving shouldn't be a problem.

Yup, think it's all lined up. Murph will be there Wednesday, possibly with Todd, then Erik and Chris Thursday. I am pretty sure Erik knows how to drive the tractor so that should cover everything needed work wise. If I could trouble you guys to tighten up the flag hanging over the road up top I would be mighty obliged. It was sagging pretty good last time I seen it.

The water barrel up top, if you guys could watch the measurement of the bleach added it could be made potable. For 55 full gallons I think my math is telling me about 4.5 teaspoons should be enough to sterilize it, maybe 5 if you feel like it. (Or 1.5 tablespoons if that is what you got for measurement.)

I retrieved the flag, the last time I was up.

We'll rehang it for the Gathering.

according to this, 6 tsp (one fluid ounce) is potentially a little overkill, but not by much, and we could go close to 2 ounces and still be safe to drink.

Well Erik I leave it in your hands, but if it tastes awful I'm blaming Zack. Speaking of, seems he was confused, he will be there Thursday with Mrs. Pointy in tow, so you will probably want to bring the forge for when you guys get done. Shenanigans! That should also provide all the help needed to get everything setup.

Excellent.

I will be arriving about 9am Friday. First thig I gotta do is sleep.......

Hope to at least.

One dinner will be provided friday night and Satursay night. Everything else is on you.

Temps should be hot during the day.
