2013 Spring Gathering May 3,4,5

Totally agreed on mead. What kind of mead was it?

It was my mead but Im bad about my record keeping. If I recall correctly it is 18 months old and about 12% abv with store bought honey. I did add a tiny bit of cinamon when I bottled it and I put 1 tbls of my homemade honey in each bottle right before I left because it seemed too dry to me.

Oh and I made it home safe and I have my gear strung all over the garage drying :D

1066vik is still driving, but seems to be out of the monsoons. Said he is about an hour from home yet, but that he will post up in here when he makes it back.

sorry to have missed the gathering, but hoping to make Blade show...

though, lately, i HATE flying. damn flying! rawer. so, i'll check with my "bosses" and see what my schedule is like...

Well, I made it home safe, prolly before any of ya'll other late hangers. :D

Got home, dried out, took care of the essentials, and all plans went accordingly.......:D:D:D

Got some sleep (because I damn sure didn't get any over the weekend) and am now currently covered in grease, copper powder, and sweat.......

Ah, life as normal.....

I've got two words for all of you...

Thank you.

OK, a few more words... I was floored by the hospitality we were shown. Ang and I had a great time! Hopefully, I can help out more next time.

home safe -- 1812 miles for the round trip (someone should write a song about that number!) Travel time ran about 1 1/2 hours longer than expected thanks to the weather. (Yes, Ethan, I ran through another toad strangler on the way home!)
showed off my new steel to SWMBO, got about half my stuff sitting on the kitchen table -- and realized I forgot to grab Rob's challenge blade out of the box before heading this direction (along with some other stuff)

Good to hear everyone else made it to their designated stopping point in good health and spirits.
James -- thanks for coming out, ( :D ) it was good to meet you and Angie - and especially to get to experience some of her cooking!
It was good to see folks again and to meet some new ones.
Uncle E, too many thanks for putting the shindig on and putting up with us hooligans. (and especially for letting me play with the grinder again)
Also - thanks to all who helped Derek in his ambush project -- including those who knew about it and didn't give me any hints.

nap time now.

Psyop and I are safely home - thank you everyone for allowing me to visit with you and learn from you. Ethan you are an amazing host and I just hope I will be able to come to more of the gatherings - on Becker Mountain or wherever.

I still do not have all my loot unloaded from the car but everyone please understand that the rumors that I am going into the knife sales business and competing with KA-BAR are all greatly exaggerated.:o

It's not really that much of an exaggeration with the haul you made. Kay and I sure enjoyed the time we spent with you.

Nice. Sounds like a great weekend, and good homemade mead can only make it better. :-D

We've decided to dry our tent out by burning it in the trash barrel. The maiden voyage was the first and last for that POS.

Yeah, if my tent accosted me like ya'lls did I would be burning it too.

lol what tent was it that assaulted you Trade ?

It was a damn good one. An Ozark Trail that was on clearance ten years ago and been on a shelf in the basement until Thursday. I'm astounded. Kay took a tent pole in the head Friday night and it dripped water in my face Saturday night.

Pics or it didnt happen

If you want pics, we'll shoot it, blow it up, burn it and scatter the ashes in Walmart.
