2015 Case Tony Bose annual collaboration, what pattern are they going to use?

Went for a hike today on my son's first birthday, so most of the pics were of him. I did snap a couple of the cattle knife:

Thanks for the pics, Rob! That's the first pic I've seen with the blades closed. Lookin' good!

Agreed, but I was more concerned with how high the tangs stick up with the blades closed. Doesn't look bad at all.

How do you like having all three nail nicks on the same side? How's the blade action?

Hope you don't mind the questions. I'm really testing my will power on this one. I really want one but the price makes it a tough call for me. Gotta make sure I can justify the expense.

Thanks, Bob!
We actually fled the rain today and headed out to Mount Wachusett.
It was windy and pretty chilly, but the rain held off until we packed up to leave.

No, they're not bad at all. The main and sheepsfoot blade tangs stick out the width of a dime and the short clip (on a slightly smaller bolster) sticks out just a literal hair more than a nickel's width.

The knife was clearly designed with minimizing the profile of the blades in a closed position in mind. You can hardly see the nail nick for the main blade, but when you reach to open it your thumbnail just finds it. The two secondary blade nicks are just fine, especially with the tiny cutout.

The action is superb. All three blades snap open, half-open, and closed with a satisfying snick. I'd put the pull at a six on the secondary blades and a seven on the main clip.

That all sounds just about perfect to me. I think my will just lost its power. :)

Nice Rob, thanks for the pics. "The force is strong with this one", however...the knife budget may be too weak!

Received my ebony Case/Bose Cattle Knife arrived today. Not bad at all I have to say. I'd say it's a keeper. But it's priced right up there with customs, but I guess for all intents it is even with the number in the production run. It does seem to have add a bit more attention to building as compared to regular productions. This one, and the coffin jack, are my favorites of these collaborations.

Here's a picture of it, with my Dr. T rendition of the Bose Cattle Knife done in ivory that he crafted for the 2014 Blade show. Another really nice piece that I'm pleased to own. Love to carry it.

Thanks for the pic and comments, Joe. Both are jaw dropping knives!

I've got an Antique Bone Cattle Knife ordered. Waiting on a shipping notice.

Thanks, Rob. Shipping was swift indeed. Mine just arrived today and I have several photos to share. I don't have a single complaint about the knife. It's everything I hoped it would be. I'm very excited to start carrying it.

I forgot to snap a photo of how the blades line up with the backsprings when opened but they all line up perfectly.

Great knife! If there's any way I could be happier I'd sure like to know what is.:) Superb craftsmanship here. Color me impressed! Thank you Tony and Case!

Virtually seemless backsprings with zero gaps. Just as it should be.

Pinned shield and mill relieved liners. Woohoo!!

Pretty doggone clean inside too.

Rick, Thanks for the pics and the review. I would have been surprised if it didn't meet your expectations, as I've been very happy with every Case-Bose collab I've purchased. Congrats!

Thanks, Gary. And you're welcome. I've been a big fan of the Case/Bose Norfolk over the years. I've owned four of them and still have one. Every one of them was top notch in my opinion.

The Norfolk was the only Case/Bose collab I had ever owned until now. I really like this Cattle Knife. When I first saw the pics I knew I had to have one. It's an interesting knife for a three blader. I'm used to having the Sheepsfoot blade behind the main blade but this one is just the opposite. Nail nicks are all on the same side too which is different for me but in a good way.
