2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

I would love it if GEC made a peanut, but with no half stop, maybe it is just me but it is the half stop that seems to bite me most often. This little Pemberton is a great knife let down for me by its half stop.

Digging this idea.

Personally, would love a simple single-bladed knife with a cool cover material.

Gentlemen.
May I suggest the 'nutjack'?
It is a peanut AND jacknife in one !

What about something unusual like a hawkbill pruner with a bottle opener. That or a sheeps foot with a bottle opener.

I would love a sowbelly. That would be a blast. Or a nice serpentine large stockman. Square bolsters. Along the line of an old hen and rooster or a Moore maker.

I'm surprised more people haven't suggested a swayback, knowing how popular they are here.

Now you're talking, big Sheepsfoot blade, rat-tail bolsters, ebony covers...;)

Sounds good, Jack!

(with each iteration of the Traditional Forum knife it becomes harder to design the next one to be truly unique...)

Rat tail bolsters... swayback... I could go for that.

I'm still voting a peanut as my first choice but since we're looking at a swayback a with rattail bolsters why not go lambsfoot?

Paul, Jack, those are really nice! Traditional, less common, but great looking design and practical too. I wonder if a manufacturer could easily produce that for an affordable price? Has GEC or another company produced a similar knife recently?

I don't think a single blade Sheepsfoot would be expensive to produce, but I don't know if GEC have produced a frame or blade we could borrow

Here's an old Joseph Rodgers Sheepsfoot with sway ;)
