What are your 2015 knife goals?

For me....
Pass my jury for voting membership into the Knifemaker's Guild in September.
Finish my "fish knife". I've had the materials on hand for a small feather Damascus and MOP knife with gold pins and gem eyes. Never used MOP, gold, or set gems.
Keep practicing forging. I'm starting my second year in the ABS and would like to show up to Kansas City with some really nice forged knives also.
Get a mill and/or a welder in 2015.

That'll do :)

Mine are:

Work faster!

Forge more

Try to get a mill or hardness tester.

My resolutions for this year include more focus on attention to detail. I have many users feedback on my knives, and the designs are pretty sound, geometry is good, so now its work toward the JS testing. Fit, finish, symmetry will be my buzzwords this year.

Actually try to finish a knife this year, instead of starting several and finishing none like last year! :-P

Make at least 1 slipjoint or linerlock and pass JS peformance test. Give me a hard time if I don't do either by 1/1/2016!

For 2015 I'm going to do a few shows, push more into doing folders, and continue to challenge myself on design, materials, fit and finish.

I am going to attempt a Take Down Bowie and have it ready for Blade.

Finish the friction folders I have started and start working on some Frame Locks.

Tapering Tangs is another thing I really want to work on.

Improving fit and finish overall.

1. Finish my dust collection bucket setup that has been offline for about a year!
2. Make more knives!
3. Make a liner lock/frame lock

My goals for this year:

Reduce my backlog to zero.

Try more handle styles and materials.

Improve my sheaths.

Start to make more swords.

Make lot's more money than last year. :)

My resolution is to up my production. I'm incredibly slow as is, but I'd like to make more than three swords and four or five knives in a year.:)

I'd like to make at least one slip joint knife. I have the chris crawford DVD series to watch on the subject.

I also need to get more belt grits so I can do more work on the grinder rather than by hand.

Practice my freehand grinding.

Get a better grinder.

Being a very ametuer maker I fell like the knives I've made so far I've stayed too safe and really have not challenged myself to step out of this comfort zone I've been in. I've been afraid of stepping out of that safe zone because I've been afraid of a failure. I've not done any knives with bolsters or any hidden tangs. They've all been super safe full tangs with one piece scales on each side.

So my resolution is to completely challenge myself to become better by trying new things.

I'd like to make a tanto for my son and a hidden tang hunting knife. Both will be firsts for me. I want to work on fit and finish as well.

I've been off and on again about knife making. I really enjoy it but something always takes priority. So far my plan was in the tail end of 2014 to restart a shop and start producing again. I picked up 3 Christmas orders while rebuilding a shop. 2015 for me is going to be focused finishing some designs and on producing knives.
