2015 New Year knife resolutions

Overall, getting back out there. Been venturing dangerously close to the box and I miss the open range. :(

More specifically:
Make a few more folders.
Get a leather sewing machine so I can explore sheath design a bit more easily.
As always, improve fit and finish.
And finally, practice engraving some more.
 
For equipment I would like to get a 9" disc grinder this year.

I would also like to explore more styles. In particular, I would also like to forge a Bowie Knife or 2 with a hidden tang.
 
1. Start making slip joints
2. Work on freehand grinding
3. Work with some stainless as I'm strictly stock removal at this point
4. Maybe toy with the idea of removing the restrictive part of #3
5. ALWAYS striving for better fit/finish

I'm new to knife making, so I want to learn. I'm getting my tools together and want to refine skills and get halfway descent at it:).
 
  • Sell my first knife!
  • Leather sheaths
  • practice, practice, practice!
  • Heat treat oven
  • First hidden tang with guard
