2015 NorthEast Beckerhead Gathering. Oct 9-11.

Made it home.
We ate, drank, and were merry!
Pix to come.

A great big thank you Uncle E., Ka-Bar and our extremely gracious (and fully bacon enabled) host, trailbum (and his family). I took absolutely ZERO pictures as I was having too much of a good time to dig out my camera (cell was off for the weekend) but thankfully, there were a lot of other photographers there to record the fun. Even a little foul weather Friday night didn't dampen our spirits. Everyone went home with something they didn't come with.....including a newfound respect for daizee's tomahawk hucking prowess.

OK!
Woo! What a gorgeous weekend, minus the Friday rain (which I totally skipped).
Another huge thanks to the Trailbum family for hosting us!
When 3-day weekends become a federal standard, we will have to do this for an extra day.

I didn't get out the camera until it was getting dark, so without further ado:

Mr. Bensinger arrived with a terrifying number of terrifying blades! I'm pretty sure there were just the ones in his pockets. Man can conceal a knife. This should serve as a reminder: don't mess with the little guys!

GSOM showing us that size does matter: when cutting a pork loin the size of Tennessee, you need a knife the size of New Hampshire:

And the creepy no-flash version:

The next morning: Putting this poor creature out of our misery.
GSOM says: "I'm sure this is good for something...". It became a much better grease-catcher than it ever was a beer.

Trailbum showin' us how it's done in daylight: a cast-iron double for the win

Made it home, battery was dead on the camera I took some pics with the cell I'll post later. Such an amazing time with amazing, gracious and generous people. I was happy just to be there with everyone. Sincerely thanks again

Made it home!

Had a fantastic time always. Thanks to all the awesome, generous people who make this happen every year. I'm in desperate need of a shower right about now, but I wanted to throw up this group picture before hitting the sack. More pictures to come tomorrow!

At least one of my kids was in it LOL.

Great meeting you, thanks for showing your hammock setup. I was thinking since we are close we could get together for a November "hang" maybe if time permits in Harriman or something and do something Becker knife related

Thank you Ethan and Kabar for the great prizes.
Thank you everyone for helping make this happen.
Where was I for Bensingers bag of blades.
Pics on the way.

I can tell from these pictures that it will be an early & cold winter for the NE -- by the length of Bensinger's hair!

We arrived and shortly after the skies opened up so trailbum had us hang from the rafters :D

I'd like to give a HUGE shoutout to KaBar and Ethan for all the gifts and to dresnor for paying attention to my grumblings and giving me his prize the BK3, one day I'll figure out how to repay his and all the generosity experienced during these gatherings. Here it is with the crew that went, minus the 9 it was hiding in the truck

My youngest asked if the orange handles I had would fit his new knife so there you have it, his first mod...

I took precisely zero pictures but my newly iPhone enabled daughter took a couple and said I could post them here as long as I credited the photography to her:

There was some char cloth being made as we were packing up to go.....

At least I have the memories. Plus, there were a LOT of other folks snapping away, so....

Hey GSOM, your pictures were taken on invisible film!

Best pictures of me so far this year for sure.
All totally absurd.

I am completely jealous of everyone in this thread. It looks like you had a great time.

Hey, you're only in CT....two families came from NY - not a stretch to say you'd be welcome if you decide to make the trip next year for the spring or fall Gatherings. You could be in these pics the next time around......

Great pics. Had a damn blast didn't you.

No. No, we didn't. Weather was terrible, food sucked, the people were surly (and armed!) and worst of all the only beer was that Bud Select 55 and I will never, ever be attending again......until next year.

ok.....it was fun. REALLY fun. You can't not go to a Gathering, simple as that.

I gotta say, MadIndian's crew knows how to pack. They humped all their gear outta there in one go looking like through-hikers all the way up the hill. And he has stellar taste in knives. ;)

First, I want to reiterate my thanks to all the awesome people who make this happen every year. Jason (Trailbum) who opens up his house and property to this madhouse of armed and hungry hooligans, his wife and kids; Ethan and Ka-Bar for making the awesome knives that bring us all together, as well as providing awesome prizes. And to everyone who shows up and proves why Beckerheads are the coolest people.

I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted, as I brought my son for the first time this year and he definitely kept me busy. But here's what I've got:

Trailbum has an amazing property, and New Hampshire in October is just plain gorgeous. This was our view throughout the weekend:

Don't let his threatening demeanor frighten you, GSoM is a cool guy:

In between all the other activities and taking care of his girls, he took the time to instruct my son in the finer points of archery:

The weather was beautiful but chilly, nothing a little fire can't take care of:

Speaking of fire, many laughs were had about the fire on Saturday night (unfortunately not pictured is Bladite's "Cloak of Abduction"):

That's it for pictures. I do have some videos, mostly of the tomahawk throwing contest that I hope to get edited and posted soon.

Thanks again for an awesome weekend!
