2015 Shot Show Limited Edition

Would really like to have that green Mini Rukus. I love that design, unlike many of BM's current offerings which are usually not at all my thing. But I can't justify the price. Like, not even a little bit.

That Loco looks cool though, maybe BM is making a turn. Hopefully it doesn't have a ludicrous price.

Going to have to pass on this one.Maybe if they upgraded the steel and chose a lighter colour of green.

Hey guys, I thought I would come in and comment on the pricing.

Ours is $50 more than BladeHQ mostly because that is where my Benchmade rep suggested we price it. It is one of those limited edition things that really has no exact price because it is a promotion from Benchmade to their dealers. Everyone has to look at it and say, "i think it is worth X" BladeHQ is sold out, we have sold about half. It is a tough call how to price that kind of thing.

In any event, those are my thoughts on it. :)

oh...the other factor we considered as well, these are currently selling on Ebay way north of $300.

The Benchmade Mini-Rukus 615BK-1501 is a 1,000 Piece 2015 SHOT Show Limited Edition. Many dealers have yet to receive them like KnifeWorks, KnifeCenter, etc. There will be more in the pipeline so it pays to wait for a better price.

You'll have no problem picking one up for under $200. That's for sure.

You can still find the 2014 shot show knife for $200-225 on the secondary market.

Sigh.....:(

I really feel that BM has jacked their prices up to where they are unappealing. An old model in green G-10 and S30V, and 1000 pieces to boot after another mini-rukus was recently released.......

That SHOULD be a $130.00 knife all day long.

The original was/is way more appealing.

Benchmade pricing had me throwing my computer across the room... this is why I only own one benchmade anymore, the 940-01. Other than that I'm done with Benchmade, for the money I'd spend on a couple benchmade knives, I'd rather have something more towards a midtech (strider, CRK, Brous, etc.). The only other one for 2015 I'd grab would be the CF nakamura.

That is a perspective I had never considered: "knife A" is too expensive; therefore purchase "knife B" for over twice as much. That'll show 'em.

Knife B may be twice as much, but you get 3x the knife. Do the math, knife B comes out a winner every time.

What I am having a hard time with is when people are flipping knives on eBay for twice what they paid for them, what good does it do the dealers to follow the same path? It's bad enough to see the same people that buy knives only to flip them, now our favorite retailers are getting in on the act? Oh my. The most viable solution so far has been a limit of one per customer/household, as Knifeworks and some other stores have implemented. Make the scalpers earn a bit of that money. In the end many people have a very low opinion of those practices anyway.

It's a bad trend for sure. On this very knife $200 is a stretch for S30V & G-10 and a 1,000 piece run! Above $200 is just not right and I've seen it at $230-$250 on at least three dealer websites. Fortunately, I've seen more now at just under $200.

Yes, one way is for dealers to limit these to one per customer. Another, is to make people aware of dealers who are selling them at a reasonable price.
