A buddy is getting into re-enactments on a budget so I pimped out an Old Hickory for him. I'm thinking of adding a few small brass nails...I haven't decided yet. Going to make a rawhide sheath.

Real cool Trade.

That should do quite well. A little after Thanksgiving I dug out and sharpened up a group of Mom's old Hickory knives since I noticed around Thanksgiving that her kitchen knives were practically useless (which was mostly a diversion to hold her off buying any kitchen knives until she could receive the J.A. Henckels I bought her for Christmas). I need to track down a few for me. They are solid old blades.

Oh, I really like the blue cinch sack as well.
Trade, that is some pretty impressive work you been chunking out lately! Nice job!

Coming soon to a cable network near you.

Can you make me a giant sword JT? we can use it to shave Noswad0208's goat :D

Sorry to hear about your site 710. :thumbdn:

That knife looks sweet Trade!

"The man who makes giant swords"
and ugly skirts.

looks like it has a bottle opener on the back fit for pony keg.
the recurve near the base of the blade must be for fine work, like making fuzz sticks and trap notches.

I was also wondering what the heck he is wearing around his neck.... Anybody have a clue?

What do you expect from a guy who's smooth as a dolphin from the neck down?

Lalalala....I can't hear you.... Trying to not see this in my mind....

My goat is hairy AND pretty, though. :D

I suggest keeping it away from bigghoss...he likes pretty things... :D

@TBL, He might allow it but his sister would knock you into next week if you tried. :D

@GSO, No comment. :D

Well Ladies and Jellyspoons yesterday I received my knife back from Todd... The 15 month project has finally come to a close. Figured since it started in here, might as well bring things full circle. I should be posting some more in the thread over at Todd's corner of the forum, but as of this moment we finished it. Thanks Todd, I cannot say that enough.

And here is the full thread!

Yes, I can. The real questions are, do I want to, and how much are you willing to spend? ;)

It's a normal respirator (quite a good one, I'm told) that he cobbled up to make it look "steam punk"

Methinks thou dost protest too much. You know you love it!

Glad you like the knife Zach, I know you worked hard on it. Well done man.

JD. I dont envy you at all dealing with your website. That sucks. My website has been a pain in my ass and I don't even mess with it, I have a person reconstructing it now, the goal is for it to be all new before my magazine pieces hit.

In other news, I couldn't sleep at all last night, stomach was bothering me, so I got up at 3 a.m. went out to the shop and ground, heat treated and drew 8 knives. Came in at 9 a.m. took a 1 hour nap and woke up feeling worse. Figured more I layed around the worse it would be. So, I went out to my buddies shop and got a few things done, then threw up my lunch. Now anything I drink comes out the other end. Gotta love the stomach flu. Wish I could of at least made it through the first month of the new year before I got sick. :grumpy:

Oh and by the way Zach, my son Jared did the lanyard on your knife. So, I cant take the credit for that!

Sounds like a challenge! game on!

Sweet looking knife IWHF!

JT, what I'm willing to pay and what I can afford to pay are two different things at this moment ;) I have no problems dropping coin on a well made tool (my expensive folder habit of 2014 kinda speaks for itself). I ain't going anywhere brother, when I can, I'll hit you up with my idea for a giant sword :D

Sorry you feel like crap Todd! get well soon man!

trade - nice work on the old hickory.
