2015, the snarkiest year yet!

I've had a $50 bill burning a hole in my wallet for about a month now, from my birthday.

Send it to me, and I'll send you something back. It will involve hand-ground and professionally HT'ed steel of some kind or another...

In other news, personally I think almost all Spyderco folders are ugly as sin, and I can certainly see why people might get bored of/turned off by the hype and fanboyizzery that sometimes surrounds them. But I've put new scales on a couple, so I got to check 'em out for free... I gotta say, the ones I've played with were quite well-made and surprisingly comfortable and nicely-balanced in hand. My best advice is to examine them with your mitts, not just your eyes, and then decide. :)

Sharp too? That sounds like one hell of a deal at 50 bucks..... regardless of the knife's specs LOL

This is the same advice i got about women as a kid :D It was great advice then and now.

I thought they were pretty darn ugly too. Then I got my hands on a few and figured it out. Most of the folders in my collection are now Spyderco and they all get used.

Yup, that's pretty much how I feel about 'em. I still don't actually own one because I'm cheaper than dirt and almost always carry a fixed-blade. But if I was in the market for another good handy sturdy folder, heck yeah I'd look at Spyderco's first.

Sharp is free. Magic costs extra.

Women are a whole different story! I am the last person you want to ask for advice on romance... I just got lucky. Can't put a price on that... :D

Mornin' Heads! It's cold and rainy here and looks like its gonna stay that way all day. Looks like a good day for sleeping in and then some Cowboys GREATNESS on the frozen tundra! I'm gonna say 24 - 17 Cowboys. Sorry cheeseheads Da Boys will not be denied!!!

I've never like the weight of spyders. Too light for me :( Call me crazy... but I like my tools heavy, gives me that illusion that they are indestructible, so I can use them to their full potential.

My whole family except for a few on my mom's side are Cowboys fans, and one of my uncles is very obnoxious, therefore I root for the Packers today in hopes that it will crush his ego down to size. My favorite team is the Eagles.

I have a Tenacious and the related knives. Never used them but I have a whole stack of folders I haven't used yet that are still NIB. I do like the budget Spyderco's though. In fact, I prefer the designs of the tenacious family over all the other Spyderco knives I've seen. The Ambitious is probably the smallest folder I can actually use.
I was checking out the Ambitious as well. A one hand opening system, and a short blade would work well for me, considering I use my blades to open boxes more than anything else.

I found them to be a little too expensive (and way overhyped on these forums) for what I was getting. They're made well, and have good steel and decent ergos, but the ones I owned didn't really speak to me. These include the Gayle Bradley and the PM2.

EDIT: I also have always found it weird that the same people that comment on the griptilians handles feeling cheap will rave about a frn delica.
Gotcha.

Haha, what could it be for $50? :D I don't think the Spyders look too bad. I agree that trying it out would be a good thing, but we have no stores like that around here.

I feel like that too sometimes, but with today's materials being light and strong, it doesn't bother me too bad.

I carried a Spyderco UKPK for a couple years and is a fantastic knife. The only reason I quit carrying it is because I sharpened it enough that the tip is a little proud of the handle and I was tired of nicking my hand on it when reaching in my pocket.

I had a PM2 for a while, but sold it to a buddy who was looking for a good OHO knife. That was probably my favorite folding knife and I never had a chance to use it.:foot:

love my ukpk -- cooper, if you want to send yours to me, I can drop the tip on it a bit to make it safe to carry again.

Thanks for the offer! Honestly, I had kind of forgotten about that knife until the talk of Spydies here. I suppose my craftsman grinder could handle the task.. I may have to give it a shot later today.

We caught two coyotes in one day for the first time ever. Dirty devils kill our lambs so we do our best to get rid of them.

left work and headed straight for the gunshow because I didn't feel like going home. Got here way earlier than I thought I would so I still have 40 min before the doors open. But I got a spot right out front where no one will block me in.

The dude that sold me the 625 yesterday is bringing in the moonclips and some ammo for it. Then I'm going straight home and going to bed.

Nicely done. Most people seem to think Coyotes are little things and not dangerous, but your pic clearly shows they arent small at all. One of my friends in Co. lost the family dog to coyotes and they were stunned when the vet told them.
They thought they were barely bigger than a cat ..lol

Dubz, next time you're headed to the cabin stop at GP Knives in Troy. It's right off the highway, there are VERY good people, and the have a large selection of Spydies, Beckers, Esee, Benchmade, etc.

The place I work is lousey with rabbits and coyotes. Friday night I was in my patrol rig and a 'yote came right up to the truck. Was barely phased when I started honking and flashing the lights. Can't touch 'em either because the place is also designated a wildlife preserve. We also got bobcat, deer, antelope, fox, badger, skunk, mice, snakes, big damn spiders, hawks, owls, eagles, frogs, lizards, and unconfirmed sightings of a cougar. One night a young black bear wondered on too.
