He's got a thick European accent and a handshake which will draw you in.

I'm glad for his success and I can't think of anyone more deserving.

Bertie Rietveld: Longtime maker and longtime friend. He was with his wife Melinda this year and she's such a treat to chat with. (I purchased a knife from Bertie well before I was any good at photography. Still have it!)

He always brings something special. This year he took it all away, and one close look and you will have to agree. So deserving

I was asked by the China Knife magazine editor to include a display with his Blade award trophy. I created a second version. (I am hoping they mail you a brass plate with name, year and award later? )

I purposely went for a bright white clean look. Good knives can stand up to simpler, brighter backgrounds.

That's all for today. I've got plenty more to complete. Tomorrow, I have to spend time on another VERY special award knife for one of our Mastersmiths: Mike Quesenberry. Wait for it.....

I remember that knife - I was with you in NY that day. A beautiful piece, but I dare say this latest piece is even more spectacular. That carved flowing ribbon of a guard is just incredible.

Thanks, as always, for sharing your art with us Coop. Your crisp images, lively compositions, right lighting and complementary backgrounds once again prove why you are the go-to guy for professional knife photos.

I was especially pleased to work with the talented, humble and VERY friendly group of craftsmen and artisans from Argentina.

Every person was a pleasure to smile with, and even if we didn't understand each other, the SMILE and handshakes are universal.

What's also universal is the stunning appreciation for THIS project. Calling it a 'Cut n' Shoot' almost sounds comical for the importance and craftsmanship it commands.

I'll call it deserving of the highest rank. Look closely at the components, all crafted as a whole.

And then there was one.... A BIG ONE.

Michael Quesenberry never ceases to amaze, and this time he stands at the top. Partnering with Saign Charlestein as silversmith, the two of them created and won 'Best Collaboration' for the 2016 Blade Show. :D

It was SO GOOD, that the project also won 'Best in Show'!

PLEASE show your appreciations and comments on these works.

I'm about 2/3 done. Still more to come later this week!

So much awesomeness in this update. Once again I must bow down low in recognition of that spectacular Quesenberry piece. Beautifully captured, Coop!

Knives that I would have happily walked away with : 1) the Diebert feather fighter - just gorgeous wood; 2) the sweet little Nuckels Moran-style piece, 3) the CAS clamshell and 4) the Gregory large tanto.

That CAS cut and shoot is incredible! And all the accessories.......just mind numbingly great work!
Thanks for the view.
Darcy:)

I want to thank you, your lovely wife, and the charming Maggie for your sympathy and kindness!
It was a pleasure to deal with you!
Thanks for your words about our work!
I'm happy you've found the secret corkscrew before taking the pics! LOL

Wow Coop!

The new JS & MS work is so outstanding

The knives that really speak to me on page 2

Jeremy Spake's
Matt Gregory's
Michael Deibert's
Mike Q's collaboration
and the entire CAS line up

Incredible work!

Thank you Coop for taking the time to post your amazing images! Incredible knives for sure!

So many great knives and makers I would not have the opportunity to see and and enjoy without your hard work Coop.

Thanks for bringing us along. I'm sure Blade is a lot of stress and hard work for you, and I appreciate you taking the time to bring us along on the journey.

The CAS lever-bowie is fantastic. I watched the build thread on that one with great interest. I remember his first bowie in that style, minus the shoot part. I instantly thought some one would suggest, or he would build a shooting version of it!

The best in show/ best collaboration I watched videos of. Many of the makers work you showed is completely unknown to me.

Even being a CAS fan, that bowie/ guarded folder was a complete surprise to me. A real gem of a set.

The secret bartender lock back by Javier Vogt really tickled my fancy!

Too many great knives to even focus my brain on all the details. I'll spend much time on this thread in the future!

thanks for posting this awesome pic of my knife, coop! and thanks for the kind words, steve. i'd like to point out that the knife pictured was a collaboration between myself and mareko maumasi. he made me a bar of incredible damascus steel, and i tried my best to do it justice in the execution of the knife. thanks for looking!

Thank you guys! It's been a long work week, but so gratifying.
