Hi Neeman,
life has distracted me and the Bladeforum knife is not slated to be done until later in the year, so it keeps slipping to the back burner.
The Camp knife, and now the #14 pattern have taken my attention, although I have posted on differing topics, in other threads.
That said, the BF knife never completely stops buzzing around me.
I came across an interesting punch that may turn the consensus around a bit.
We were going to use one similar to a punch used in the past, but in looking through my antique Case HJs I found one that was used in Little Valley, NY, when Case was there for a brief while.
I will start a new thread to keep from confusing the issue with this "blade" thread!

I feel like spear would look more at home in the handle (which look like it's pretty wide), especially for just a single blade. I've personally seen more single bladed traditionals with a main spear blade, and I feel like it would be a bit more of a classic touch

Glad the spear point was the leading favorite, now that the pole is closed. Look forward to the final design!

Is there any news on the forum knife front? I know that this is a labor of love for all involved, and it represents a significant energy cost for those who make it happen, but I can't help but hope that there might be news.

It especially doesn't help that I have recently started frequently carrying a knife with a punch and have found it very useful. Now all of a sudden I can actually see myself using this years forum knife, and that makes me want it all the more.

So don't count on it, got it. ;)

not at all, some folks snag one or two and eventually let them go on the for sale section. some folks order it and then let it go after they get their hands on it. some folks trade. you can get one eventually if you miss the sign up. of course some of the previous years knives can end up commanding a premium

My memory isn't the greatest but I don't recall there being a mad rush to purchase in the past. Seems like there has always been plenty of time to order before they all sell out. Several days if not a week or so. I suppose this year could be different.

I think that's a possibility. There was a big jump in popularity over the last year. Who knows.

As someone who regularly spends days or weeks out of civilization, that seems like a pretty small window for me sometimes.

The last forum knife was on sale for quite some time, I wouldn't fret too much.

+1  I really don't think this is going to be an issue. Can we please keep discussion based on reality, otherwise the process will become an even bigger pain in the backside to those who'll have to deal with the orders than it probably is already. Talking up a shortage, when that has never happened in the past, really isn't very cool. Let's try and remember what the annual Traditional Forum knife is supposed to be about eh?

I agree there generally isn't a shortage and even if one misses out the knife will be available on the exchange fairly quickly. I bought last year's model and had no interest in it after I received it.
