Close one! Because I was about to say.... :o

Ed, thank you so much for your continued generosity and encouragement to all of us, in this particular Traditional tradition. :)

RobertK Congratulations on your win!

Ed My Pipp thoroughly approves of your generosity and helping hand to cats in need. She was once in that position, but I have to say, she's not the type who'd share with 11 other cats... :eek:know what I mean? :D

Thanks, Will

I have one like that, Will. She stays in another part of the house by herself. Your Pipp is a pretty kitty. Then there is one that picks a fight with another one and they have to be separated for a while until the goofy spell subsides.

RobertK-congratulations man, what a fun one to win!
Tlarrbb-thanks for tho opp. One of these days I'm going to win a gaw. My wife will think I bought another knife...but that's a different story:D
Pertinux-little black kitties! You had me there, even without the other pics(like the woof, seems small next to our 90# "puppy"). Who is the shy guy(gal?) next to your beloved fiddle's?
Thanks, Neal

Congrats RobertK, you gotta take some pics when the "whatever" comes in.

Nah, Rookie82, he has to wait until Christmas Eve to open the package. Hopefully, he will receive it on the 22nd. The USPS system says Friday, though. They count funny. Priority mail - 3 day seems to me if mailed on the 19th, would be Tues., Wed. Thurs. Oh well, hopefully it will be there by the end of the week.

Ed J

Always enjoy your photos and stories, Sarah. Those black kittens? are very pretty fellows. Are they both males?

Ed J

Well, the Post Office claims to have delivered the package! Now the wait begins. Luckily, it's not a long one.

Ed J

It was delivered. My wife set it aside and put it with the other gifts. We will be opening most of our gifts this year on Christmas Eve, because Christmas is on Sunday.

I am super excited!

Nice to see this tradition still going Ed, thanks for continuing it this year. It warms my heart reading the Holiday traditions shared here, it stirs up lots of fond memories. Merry Christmas to you, and to all that dwell on this porch...

As I mentioned, we opened our gifts tonight. Can I start by saying how humbled I feel to have had the chance to participate in this tradition. I am very grateful!

Only way to open the package in my mind was with the forum knife 2016.

And note what could be the most legit packaging job I have ever seen!

So here is a clue!

By the way, Boker doesn't mess around with packaging. They take it seriously. Kind of cool!

And the contents!

It took me a minute to figure out what exactly is was. There's paperwork and a microfiber bag underneath the foam padding. It's a Boker Evergreen. Limited edition that it appears is now discontinued. It's (I think) a stockman pattern, which is a first to me!

My five year old son already informed me that he wants to keep it when he's old enough because he really liked the wood.

I'm so stoked. Did I mentioned this was the last gift I opened? I really wanted to open this last and it really was a beautiful close to an amazing evening.

I am SO grateful. Thank you so much!

-Robert

RobertK, that was a limited edition two blade stockman jack with olive wood covers. It's a very neat knife. I hope you enjoy it. And thanks again for participating in my Christmas Eve Gift tradition here on BF!

Merry Christmas to all my BF friends and to the moderators that oversee these forums; they have a sometimes thankless job. We appreciate all you do.

God bless you every one!

Ed J

Very cool Robert. Good to hear that it has a young admirer already as well!

Have a great Christmas everyone!
