2016 Christmas Eve Gift

This knife dates from August 2012. There's a couple of my posts on it in this thread. This knife was limited to 250 pieces in Europe and 250 pieces in the US.

Congratulations Robert!
Thanks Ed for not only hosting another generous Gaw, but for also informing me of another must have knife! I have a thing for these two blade knives with sheepsfoot/ coping secondaries, and I had never seen this model before.
After some searching I've already found one on the inter webs. Now I just have to pull the trigger.

Awesome knife. I have one. :
Limited edition. As Ed said, only 500 made, with only 250 available outside of the EU.
440C blade steel.
Olive wood covers.
Formal name, "Serpentine Jack".
Informal name, "stockman Jack".

Lovely knife. Ed pulled out all the stops for this one.

Congrats on that impressive Böker 2-blade stockman, RobertK, and thanks for "taking us under the Christmas tree" to share your discovery of what you won!:thumbup:

Thanks, Ed & Frank, for some additional info about the Grand Prize!

Thanks for maintaining the tradition of your Christmas Eve Gift GAW, Ed! Something to definitely look forward to each December!!:cool:

Ed, Thank you for all that you contribute (both physically and "vocally").

Congrats to Robert on the win. It is a Great looking knife and you are going to be in trouble if your son already has an eye for knives of that caliber and aesthetic.

Everyone please enjoy your family, knives, and years (new and old alike, for all accounts). We only get one go around and here's to hoping it is a joyous one.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I was playing around with the knife today and noticed two nice touches. All of my slip joints are GEC. I love their knives and I just haven't sought after anything else yet. Of course, my "collection" is like 5 knives. This Boker reminded me some touches that don't cross across makers. If I knew my terms better I could do this without photos, but I don't so I can't.

The corner of the blade that sticks it when closed is always pretty sharp on all the GECs I have. On the Boker they are mildly rounded, just enough to smooth out the pokiness.

So too, the little end guards (????) between the liners that are at the ends of where the point sits.

Those are usually pretty sharp too. One doesn't notice in use, unlike the blade tangs, but still...

Really nice touch!

Beautiful gift, Tlarrbb! And congratulations RobertK! What a great, and useful knife, in addition to its rarity. ;) nice score.
Thanks, Neal

Agreed. :)

That wood is going to feel great in use, and age well.
