This is one of my favorite snacks this is fresh zucchini from the garden, fresh corn off the cob from the farmers market pan roasted to bring out the natural sugars along with fresh eggs from my chickens alt pepper etc etc cooked in olive oil with a bit of crem fresh. OMG I LOVE SUMMER!!!

Your dinner looks delicious!

Thank you for sharing.

Cate

I want to say how great it is to see what other gardeners are doing here on BF ... and t h a n k s so much for the kind words and for sharing. Lots of new posters in this thread with thriving gardens.

Oh man that's awesome looks great there

Coming from a cook and a green thumb ... that's very much appreciated. Back at you

Susan,

Outstanding pictures! Cate

Cate, because you have an idea of the time I spent on the business end of a shovel in order to bring this property back (I know you've been there :) ) ... a before and after

Taldesta, the bee balm looks really nice. Everything is so neat and tidy.

Neat and tidy is an improvement! Gotta keep the jungle at bay here. Bee balm red is completely beyond my skills with camera to capture ... maybe it's the scent that is blinding :D

Who can't love happy pansy faces!

The cedar waxwings, catbirds and robins are feasting with their little ones on the honeysuckle berries. Its noisy out there! The bushes are almost cleaned.

Summer is so fleeting. So little time to get it all done, take it all in.

The delicate, hopeful livingstone daisy faces would be great in a rockery. Another experiment in growing from seed that taught me patience pays.

Slick, the veg garden frog, is back now that there is lots of leafy shade. Sorry to disappoint, no pics yet  OK - if you insist, here at least is a wasp using the drip waterer. Mud dabber ... not sure. Slick likes the bugs that like the waterers too.

Enjoy the dog days of summer all ...

Taldesta, have you tried Purple Coneflower in your perennial garden? It is very easy to grow and if interested has good natural medicinal qualities. The butterflies like it. Mine is on the decline right now and the gold finches are hitting the seed heads just about every day.

That must be quite a picture ... the butterflies then the gold finches on the coneflower seed heads  I have never tried them, but you're right on, they would be a great addition and would do well here.

What bounty! Looks like you border the tomatoes with marigolds ... do you find that keeps pests away?

Now that's a sleigh-full and then some ... of delicious preserves to enjoy and share! Great work. I am so glad it is a wonderful experience for the whole family.

Looking great, Keith!

Here, my Willow Leaf Ficus is doing great. The heat and humidity seem to be to its liking. It needs a repotting but I'll wait until September. Just before the nights get too cool.

I got Elvis, the 9# Yorkie to pose with it for scale.

What's this ... a critter in a gardening thread? But, nice scaling, Elvis :D

I really love the appreciation for architectural plantings that you ... and I believe slg98 ... have shown. I think that, even in my wild garden, I seek the overall architecture of planes and shapes and colour. Maybe not totally obvious ... evening primrose shooting up and all amongst the wild roses ... but sometimes I just have to let something blossom ... before I decide if its shape lends beauty or not.

Here's kudos to pups and gardens and to growing ... including ourselves.

Well the lilies are blooming; kind of late this summer.

And in the mean time it's time to fence the lower "forty"...
