A great event once again. Roger and Lorien: Good work!

Like everyone else seeing Mike's work so clearly displayed (super work by Caleb) and KNOWING this was an integral...??!!! Huge shrug. I knew: a runaway!

Phil Lobred brought Larry's knife to me. It was made specifically for him. Larry pulled out all the stops, and put IN all his skill. It showed. That one was important to me.

Good thread.

I am truly honored to be receiving this award. There were so many great knives and that Fuegen was just incredible!! Thank you for all the kind words. I don't think I've ever made a knife that required as much hand work as this one did. It definitely pushed me.

Jon was in my thoughts quite often while working on this piece. The walrus ivory scales were from his personal collection. He was one of the makers that really pushed me to do better. I miss ya Jon.

Thank you all again. This really means a lot.

Congratulations Mike. Well deserved and no surprise at all. You set the bar high sir.

Congrats to Mike and the other finalists....Exceptional work this year as always!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Congrats Mike. This seemed like a winner from the moment the world got to see it. Glad to see you take the heavyweight belt.

Absolutely Beautiful Blades all of them... Missed out on the voting! Congrats Mike Q!

Superior craftsmanship by all finalists, but special congratulations to Mike for work that stands apart.

Congrates Mike. Well deserved:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Did not realize that the voting had closed as I have been a bit busy this past few days. All but one of the knives in the finals had been in my selection of 7 and my comments would combine Roger, Marcel and the winner Mike as I too simply loved the Fuegen but would have voted for Mike as I too love the DB concept particularly when done as an integral. The major reason was that it was a well executed work of art and was a fitting tribute for the first annual John White Bowie competition award and so congratulations to Mike for his fine workmanship. It would be fun to own both of those knives but that is about like winning the lottery -- another dream for another year I guess.

Congratulations Mike. All the knives that were entered were exceptional. For me there was never a shadow of doubt that yours would not come out the winner.
Thanks to Roger and Lorien for putting this great competition on each year.

Congratulations Mike !!! Well deserved award. You are the man!!

Thanks to Roger and Lorien for taking the time to organize this competition on each year.

Happy new year to all!!
Claudio
