Let the campaigning begin! Some of us would be users with no need for a slip or a box ... :D

Now that's my kind of guy talking! Heck, lets just throw out all of that then. Stephen can wrap the knives in a bit of foil or newspaper and we're ready to go. That would even reduce the weight a bit and save a little on shipping costs. I agree. Us users don't need no pish posh fancy wrapings and packages and bolsters ornamented like some ornate commemorative coin from a proof set. Just makes the knife harder to clean after gutting some game or whatever. Blood and fish guts sticking everywhere in those grooves and flute lines and whatnot. Gotta take the knife to a dry cleaner's to get that out whereas a smooth plain bolster you just wipe off and you're ready to roll again. :p:D:D

Well this is why more polling would have to come in to play. I just need the info from Buck and we can keep this train rolling.
You have a sound plan. Stay the course. Take the time to do this right. The end result will be a unique knife that we will be proud to own.

A poll on pinched, grooved, plain, or pinch and groove bolsters would be useful if options are not budget busters.

How many would be happy with no fancy box or leather slip and just an awesome knife in a cardboard box. Another poll?!

SK, thanks for all the hard work and thanks to Buck for putting up with the whims of the forum.

ISKRA, everyone knows the grooves on slipjoint bolsters are so you can make an improvised spear after apocalypse.

I am still waiting on quotes for the grooved bolsters.

I'm pretty sure grooved will take us over the edge on cost, so we'll have to see if eliminating the special wooden box or leather pouch will reduce the cost enough to keep us under 100. We'll probably have a poll for the final configuration once I hear back. I am hoping Monday!
I could give up the box but I like a nice slip for my knives when I carry would rather have plain bolsters to no slip but the box I can take it or leave it.

No preassure, I just wanted to point out that we aren't unonimous on the bolsters. That's all. I apreciate all the work you're doing. I know it's tough to please us knife nuts, we aren't the easiest lot to have business with ...

How could I forget about that? :D I guess I could use it as a bayonet too, but I'd need to get a rifle first ...

Good to hear that Grooved bolsters are still in the running. I am a sucker for them.
