Sounding better and better!

I apologize if this has been answered many times, but is there an estimated release date?

I don't want to miss this one!

It's the prepay date that you want to keep an eye out for and that should be coming up very soon based on the recent comments. Just keep watching these threads and you won't miss it.

Pins add to the knife, NS pins will stand out knicely against the dark and knobbly elk scales.

Aha! I see scope for another poll...:D:D

NS Pins
Titanium Pins
Stainless Pins
Brass Pins

???o_O

Actually, I wouldn't mind brass ones here for contrast purposes..verdigris :eek::D:D Well, brass pins would be OKK so long as there are no liners matching them:poop:

Will! We managed to avoid brass on the bolsters and liners, and here you are, suggesting brass pins?!?

I say, match the nickel bolsters with the pins!

Yeah well....moment of madness:D:D:eek:

I think brass being softer then there's less tendency for scale crack, stainless pins can be very tough on material? But, antler is softer than bone and cracks less anyway.

Let's forget what I said :D:D:D:D:D;)

I'm hoping to get this information for the final knife in to Buck within the next few weeks. We may have more items to wrap up if I can figure grooved bolsters into a vote. We also need to to talk about the custom box vs a regular box, and what to put on it.

I'm not sure yet. I talked to my contact today and he said it will definitely put us over the $100 mark.
:( I know that for myself I am more that willing to go a bit over $100 for this knife, but I fear that breaking that barrier will cause a lot of people to have to pass. I look forward to finding out exactly what we are looking at (costwise), but as much as I want grooved bolsters, I wouldn't want to push a modification that priced out a lot of people. This knife is supposed to be a community thing after all, not a whatever-Abbydaddy-wants thing. I will keep hoping that it makes the price $101.14 so that we can get the grooved bolsters.

Thanks SK for all you're doing to keep this thing on track!

Is there an option for grooved bolsters instead of the box, to stay under 100? "No" is an acceptable answer! Just throwing it out there, now I'll leave it alone.

p.s. I think that box is really cool myself... but I'll have a hard time convincing my better half it has a place that's not a drawer!

The 100 USD seems a real bargain for this knife. The 2013 Knife went up to 130 USD as far as I remember and I as a non US participant have to pay extra postal costs and 25% import tax on the whole lot. So if it goes over 100 I can't complain :)

Is that like when a laywer tells you "around" 4000 and you get the written "estimate of costs only" for 7000.?
Around Cape Horn if ye please Sailing Master!
And be damned what the dockyard rats squeak about!
Three cheers for The Duke of Buckingham
And another 3 for Sailing Master Blades!
And a double ration of rum for the crew.
Hoorah.

Speaking for myself only, I'd like to see grooved bolsters, and would be willing to spend a little more for them.

If it's an extra $5, I'm all in. If it's $15 extra, I'd vote against it.

However
Not having grooved bolsters isn't a deal breaker, but adding a lot of cost is.

Just my opinions though.
