The Buck 111 weighs in at 3.7oz , so yes a little lighter David by 5 oz .
D-R, yes mine weighs .230 lb. on a certified scale. Which is 3.68 oz., about .52 oz. heavier than this Buck LT. That's .0325 lb. lighter.
The difference we are talking about is very small. I suspect what will be noticed the most is the different 'feel' in the hand. The wider
handle. So, Buck-lites have returned. Thanks, Tiguy, for that photo. DM
 
Thankyou sir. I have a sheath that came with an older Bucklite and it is thin and shiny. Similar to the material that some back packs are made from.
 
According to knife center the handle material is nylon. I was hoping it was rubber like kraton

Kraton would not be rigid enough for a frameless knife. If you did it as an over mold you end up with a very thick knife like the 450 Protege. It's also a very heavy material.
