I voted bomb since the get go. I’m glad to see it make a comeback. I think it will look great on this knife with either of the front-runner woods. And we won’t need another poll to decide which way to put it (I hope).

Besides, what would BEST represent The Porch? A violent, unfriendly BOMB?

I’m not sure, but I think I was the first to suggest a reverse Orleans shield so I definitely have a strong interest in this choice. It would be a first for a GEC knife and that is important for a BF knife. Whenever possible we should keep it very traditional, but try something new.

I still think it looks gourgeous and it would look great on any of the woods we choose. Also, it sits perfectly between the pins.

Powerful argument, my friend.
The reality is that people who can play guitar are simply not in the majority.
Narrow it down to those who can play guitar and actually read music, and they are even rarer.

Still keeping my votes for Osage and guitar shield. I’m a stubborn coot.

By the way, any Andy Griffith show featuring the Darlins (real band name~ the Dillards) is good teevee.

All you non- guitar players, PLEASE pick a shield big enough for a jewelry engraver to do some embellishment!
 
I like the bomb shield, I really do. But we have the opportunity to make this knife a little more unique and special by choosing the reverse orleans shield. The lines of that shield really flow well with the shape of the handle and we'd get to have a shield configuration that few, if any, knives had had in the past while still preserving the traditional character.
