2019 GEC 93 Ram's Foot and Waynorth Cutlery Real Lambfoot Thread

When the preview of the #93 appeared on GEC’s site I was curious but not impressed. As I researched the lamb, sheep and this forthcoming ram foot I became fascinated by the history and usefulness of this pattern. So, mine came today. I am impressed.

Of course one must have and use a knife before it’s real characteristics become apparent. Many look good but serve best in a collector’s display cabinet. Given the history of this general pattern I feel that it will become a good regular carry and user knife.

Just started collecting GEC knives this year (after collecting Case Knives for the past year or two). I had a pretty good week ...

Also, GEC posted a photo of Rams at the end of the hall recently. Does this mean they are running a new set of ram productions after the humpback?

They Have arrived!!!! My first self-labelled knives and I couldn't be more proud of them.
The springs are firm, but there's lots of leverage on those long blades! The blades snap firmly into working position but are not a chore to close. Fit and finish on the first ones are excellent.
You can't ask for a better looking or working knife!! I'm stoked - a dream fulfilled!!Thanks for all the encouragement on this porch!!!View attachment 1148868 View attachment 1148869

The lambsfoot was a great run Charlie. With this run you turned on a lot of people to the lambsfoot that normally would have never paid attention to it. This is obviously your world and we are just bit players in it.

Man. I’m in the middle of a family vacation here in Myrtle and I have a few boxes waiting for me at home. Will make it easier to go home with a lamb foot waiting for me.

I am in the same position, staying at Ocean Reef

Perfect! Just PM your addresses and I will be happy to swing by and safely hold your packages for you

I’m already trusting my old neighbor to collect my mail, so the gamble is there. But I’d say it’s safer with her than a fellow knife nut... ;)

I just saw pictures of the cocobolo 93's. Beautiful! In general, do wood sided knives hold up as well as bone? I believe cocobolo is a type of rosewood, how does it compare to ebony and ironwood as far as knife handles go?

I was able to score an ebony last night. I look forward to it. The cocobolo ram looks great too.
