When do we get to do some voting on types, styles, and countries of origin suggested thus far? Or are we still a ways from that?

What ever is decided will be great. I’ve become so obsessed with Sheffield knives that I had to order one. It wasn’t a lamb foot. Instead, it’s a twin blade (c70 carbon steel)with 5300 year old bog wood scales. It was somewhat of a blind buy, but I didn’t care. My next one is a more educated buy. Worst case, this will definitely get used.

Here’s a not great image.

So I was just thinking, if we were to go the Sheffield route, would it be possible to get a rope knife (especially if we could get one with a marlin spike). I know I flog this horse at least a little every year, but seriously, it is a super traditional pattern, and not one I see much of these days. And Sheffield has made some of the most historic and lovely examples of the rope/sailor/boat/rigging knives. And if we went the Sheffield route maybe we could actually get a stainless one that I could use around saltwater!

Anyway, it was a thought. What do you think Jack Black Jack Black , would it be a possibility?

Without a deck key, please. :)

Yes, it could be done, they still make a lot of those knives in Sheffield

A fixed blade would be great. But right now I think our best bet is a Sheffield made knife. Everything Jack has been saying that pretty much anything would be a go sounds good to me!

When either Frank or Gary or both make a post telling us who will be handling the 2019-Blade Forums Knife details, ordering and mailing, then the polls on who should make the knife, what the knife should be, etc. will begin. Until then, all this is just a cluster. That said, it fun though.

While I'd prefer a US made fixed-blade, we could certainly have a Sheffield-made one if that's what people wanted. If it is decided to go with Sheffield, my thoughts would be single-blade, carbon steel, wooden covers, brass liners, nickel silver bolsters

It is fun!

The thing about knife forums is that the members like to discuss knives. Just seems natural to me to speculate about the 2019 BF Club Knife of the Year - it is the pinnacle event of the traditional sub-forum each year - even if it turns into a Charlie Foxtrot it will be an interesting, enlightening, and fun CF! I like the idea of an English Made pocketknife but then I also like the Germans, Italians, Swiss, and Spaniards too. OH

I agree. But it is fun to read. Actually, though it will cause my brain to be more damaged than it is to keep reading this stuff. I have to develop other interests.
