We still have the majority of a week to go but I do find it remarkable how close the voting has been. Unless something dramatic happens, this is going to be a close race.

The sheepsfoot blade is much different than the previous T/C forum knife, love the vintage look of it. Plus I’m a big fan of the similar Case pattern.

Despite arguments to the contrary, it would indeed be markedly different from the 2017 knife. If it ends up being the selection, I only hope that micarta is not the chosen cover material...
  • A very different saber ground sheepfoot blade
  • Barehead configuration
  • A classic wood like Ebony or Cocobolo
  • An excellent shield like the bomb or diamond that has been suggested
It really does have the makings and potential to be a real special winner.

I agree Dylan. I cast my vote for the GEC for the reasons you stated. And please - "No Micarta" - Whatever the final decision is, I will happily buy it.

We have had knives in our forum knife lineage that have had a sheepsfoot secondary and a clip point on opposite ends. That wasn't a problem last year during voting. The majority wanted it. Now this year nobody wants a sheepsfoot main blade because we have had it before. I'm just confused. Sorry. I'm also confused why a Buck fixed blade that is a little more iconic wasn't picked. Oh well.

I wouldn't be opposed to another offering on the buck side. The 212, the 112, the 113, the 118. But someone would not like those choices also, so Vanguard it is for now. Honestly wouldn't hurt my feelings to change it, though probably impossible this far mid stream. We just figured the Vanguard has so many options for customization that it would be a good choice. Also has a very long and old history at Buck.

The Good Shepherd ?
The Crook ?
FlockMaster ?
Ringer ? (the top shearer in the shed)
RyeBuck ? --- best of both worlds there--;)
Collie?
Dagwood?

I know I know
I love the new 86 look --as long as it doesn't have you know what emblazoned anywhere about its person.

I could get behind a 103, or even the 113 as a fixed blade forum knive.

Something that would be super neat if we HAVE to go the fix bladed route, would be to have some MOP or turquoise inlay surrounded by something like Cocobolo, ironwood, or a good ebony.
