Is redtail taking the place of brown jigged? If so I don't know which one will be my camp knife, this or the beaver. I like both but if it comes down to it I may go with the beaver, I don't care for the Northfield swedge.

I guess this bullet shield is the same one as used on the 44 Magnum, but with the UN-X-LD stamp.

It really looks great to me , but I will pass on it and be perfectly happy after the Mesquite is in hand . The Bullet Shield is a nice touch IMO .

My 23 antique autumn bone arrived today & this is the one - solid opening without nail damage. IMHO, deals effectively with the issue some had with the micarta model.

At over 6 oz. this robust design would be a great camp knife.

Got my Northfield today. Blade rap on the spey, fkn great. It'd be less annoying if I did it, but it came out of the tube like that.
Seems like if you're gonna take the time to polish all that bone and 2 fat blades, you could make sure they close right.
At least it's a nice looking piece. Tight layers and great action.

I am going to pass this two blade #23. I have the GEC#23LL Northfield (brown jigged bone-redtail jigged bone) liner lock single blade on pre-order. I need to see more pictures of this bone. Brass bullet shield , brass bolster , and chocolate almond jigged bone would be a home run for me. I need to see more pictures of this bone color.

That bullet shield is sweet! I think I’m good with just one 23 though. I am about to send my beaver tail to a buddy to work some magic on it so it isn’t such a bear trap. I love the beaver in every other aspect.

Thank you so much Sir for posting this knife. I paid for mine on January 3rd ,2020. We all have been sweating it out on this knife. I am so tickled that our club knives turned out as well as it did. This knife is better than the #23 Beaver gnawed cherry wood knife. I was shocked to see the Shaner Club knife with Beaver gnawed cherry wood with un-exciting etching. I bought the cheaper Tidioute #23 Beaver knife instead. The OKCA 2020 looked like wavy "Rogers" jigging to me. Very hard to tell in the photos. I will be so happy to receive that knife in my hand.

It is a fantastic knife. I’m not sure I know what wavy “rogers” jigging is. I do have a jigged cherry in a #85 pattern and this on is much nicer. The cut are more random then on the 85.

Since the Tidioute Liner Lock is getting lined bolsters, maybe it will get the fancier shield too.

Just picked up my autumn bone 23 from my p o box.
This knife is lovely!
Even better looking than my beavertail!
Pulls are a little lighter than my woodland micarta, just perfect.
