2020 GEC #33 Conductor Thread

Old and new run. SS burnt stag is my favorite, but not the most valuable. Not into bails or 3 blade versions.

Very impressive collection John and your photo is top notch as always . Looks like you got 3 of the 2020 versions with 2 different Jigged Bones and each one is a very handsome piece . I believe that I like the one with the Bail even though I like Stag a lot .

In my mailbox today at last was my stag 33. Smooth and nondescript, but even thickness and nicely coloured which is lucky for me and my history with buying stag blind. Stout pulls and no gaps. I'm very happy with it.

Nice score. I'm sure you are happy with your new addition. Mine is still on it's way, just hoping it gets here, but with all the delays could be 2-3 months away. I just hope it gets here.:)

Thanks, cudgee.
3 months!! That's a long wait. Let's hope it doesn't take that long.

I can cop 3 months if that is what it takes. Just as long as i actually receive it, and it does not get lost in transit.

Chief Chief Impressive & tasteful line up there John  Particularly like the acorn shield Stag, but then I'm totally biased as I have one and carry it a lot :D

Do you find differences in the build-quality or W&T from the first run to the current one?

Still waiting for my Stag, tracking (never too reliable...) last seen in Chicago airport 10 days ago, hope the smoke hasn't delayed it ;)

Thanks, Will

How does the other side look? Does it match pretty well? That's very nice looking, and I bet it wears really well, over time.

Will Power Will Power thank you. Negligible difference in my opinion but if nitpicky would say my ebony from the first run is the smoothest with the best W/T. One of my two newer bones had a junk of crud making a slight gap on one end but with a little Quick Release oil and working the blade a few times it popped out and is perfect. Hope your stag finds it's way soon, seems like everything is moving in slow motion.

Thanks, hornetguy. The other side is even smoother and less featured than the mark side. The colours match very well and the two together have a slight hourglass profile, as opposed to a fatty. It's not the prettiest stag I could have got, but it's not bad.

I do like the smooth side better, but that is just my preference, i think it just looks as though it has a more individual look, looks a bit like oily bone. You have a really nice knife there.

Yeah... those two sides are very nicely matched. While it's not "gnarly" stag, I bet it's going to get better and better with age and wear. The concave sides look to be almost perfectly matched. I haven't seen that happen very often.... good stuff...

I realize the Conductors are becoming old news with the Beer & Sausage knife hitting the shelves, but I'm really glad I ended up getting both of these. I initially decided to sit this run out so I didn't sign up for any early reserves - I feel pretty lucky to have gotten one of each.
