What is it about the 47’s that makes them more desirable than their 74 counterpart? I would have actually thought the 74 drop point would have been a more popular blade shape...
The 47s with the canvas micarta and brushed bolster look amazing to me. I know I’ll regret not trying to get one, but it’s not in the budget right now. I’ll just enjoy the pictures as they show up.
Both are pretty desirable IMO

This emphasizes the lack and need for a lanyard tube in the 74s IMO. Wishes, wishes...![]()
I haven’t even seen any listed anywhere this time around. Crazy times.
GEC has missed out on >$1,000.00 from my wallet....... When I can't buy their knives, due to none available, I've enjoyed buying vintage Schatt and Morgan's and other brands...... I'm sure no one at GEC gives a rip, but I'm just stating where my knife dollars are going......
The blade stock is thicker and therefore the backspring. There's more steel. My burlap Viper at 73.5g is noticeably heavier in the hand than my burlap Mustang at 65.5g. It's not just the extra steel of the lanyard tube; it's all around thicker too.
Dangit that’s not what I wanted to see! I must of ran out of luck! That looks great Joel, enjoy it!Here’s another burlap. Would love to be able to snag an Ironwood or Stag - but I’m perfectly content if the burlap is the only one I get from this run.

I always think the micarta look especially nice with some patina.
