2020 GEC #62 Easy Pocket Congress and Pocket Carver Thread

If Photobucket hadn't lost all my pictures, I'd be happy to post up pictures of catch bits, tapered springs, parallel springs and wedge spacers.

380 or so of each cover, but who is counting.

I'll never understand why anybody would entrust the only copies of their pictures to a cloud based paid subscription service when you can get a 5TB hard drive for well under $200.....and its so easy to use a free host service for posting to the internet.

^^ really? That’s a let down, preorder based on the drawing and GEC throws a curve

Great pic, and the issue is settled. They needed to make space to the pile side of the knife because the stock size on both the pen and master blades is the same. It’s like a spacer, but a spacer to increase the width of the blade well, rather than make up the difference between spring and tang widths.

You guys are way too serious.

wait... Jiki... there’s going to be farm and field with bolsters? That would be odd as it would be a first. Also doubly odd as the rendering shows no bolsters. But what you show clearly says farm and field and shows bolsters... I’m so confused! ;););):p:D

Oh, I've still got all those pictures backed up on other media...450 miles from here. Does make it a bit difficult to upload to a new hosting service (which could also explode at any second just like Photobucket did.)

Carrying my 82 Dixie stockman today. I notice it has the same type of "catch bit" the 62 EPC has, however it's nickel silver.

I can't tell from the angle, but is that a center liner that runs all the way between the two springs? I think that's technically different from a catch bit, although it seems to serve the same function.
