2020 GEC #62 Easy Pocket Congress and Pocket Carver Thread

But, but, but the mock up drawings have a crown shield that says pocket carver?!

how will I know which 62 in the shoe box is my pocket carver if it doesn’t say pocket carver.

This is very sad news if true.
Ya, I heard that's true too, due to grinding/buffing/polishing. Weird thing to include on the mock up drawings, since all Pocket Carvers are smooth.

Another day another SFO picture. I am calling blue camel tomorrow
Hurts to miss that one... :D

Smooth knives will have smooth shields. So no writing.

Boo.

ive had it up to HERE with these misleading computer generated pre-production renderings!!! Without a badge to proudly state pocket carver it will end up with some practical moniker. Like my #93 curvy hotdog knife, or my #92 spear “melty clocks” knife... or my #35 Double Ended Horse Pill knife.

Been lurking a while on this thread.
Been on the fence but decided to give this little guy a try.
Why you say ? Exclusive from one of my favorite dealers DLT :)
Maple leaf shield
Maroon linen Micarta
And pocket friendly so they say :D
Just pulled the trigger and will share my thoughts when it arrives
Was going to wait for the snakewood but thought I’d get my feet wet a little and see if I like this pattern.

One of my earliest GECs a 2007 or 8 is a Beaver Pond 73 with very nice Ivory Smooth Bone and fully stamped Tidioute shield, so they can do it and on White Bone ;)

Personally I find it refreshing to be able to take my time and be picky as to which GEC knife I want to buy. I reserved the red bone and unicorn ivory because I knew I would like those. Now that I have time to reflect and ponder on the other handle materials, I’ll probably get a couple more...likely a stag and maybe an ironwood. Need to see them first. I also love the 62 frame and have several from the first run.
