I wish their dye's penetrated more. So many seem faded these days.

I wish the banana was closer to the Allegheny in yellow and penetration of dye.
I believe camel bone is denser than cow bone. It seems to not take the dye as well. I only have one knife in it, and I actually like the faded look, partly because I've convinced myself it must be stronger material because it's so pale.

Guys, I got my SMKW 62. It's the best made of the three I have. Absolutely no gaps or corners. The spring is perfectly flush open and closed on both sides. It even came with a decent edge. Man, what craftsmanship. Not in love with the etch, but whatever. That can be removed.

Did I miss the other DLT drops? If I remember Correctly DLT sent an email and dropped the day after GEC put the micarta on their front page.

Thanks! It's a favorite of mine, and got me excited about this run. I have high hopes for the wood covers this time around. I hadn't noticed before, but it looks like the Northfield trim this time has smaller bolsters that are not pinched. The new proportions might be better, but I do like a pinched bolster on a dressier knife.

I 1500 grit hand satin finished the blades, its not done but looks acceptable. That got rid of the etch which was my intention. I used flitz on the bolsters which made them satin instead of matte. Then I used 3000 grit on the shield to a high polish, then flitz'd it. Took a toothbrush and shaving cream to clean the micarta back up, then sharpened and oiled everything.

I like it. Its a really nice user now.

Thanks very much Ron:thumbsup: Smoothies are meant to be healthy;) but those aren't too bad:D

I'm wondering about the 'other' DLT releases too, some hold-up?

Regards, Will
I am personally a fan of the smooth ones Will! I think GEC drips the new releases at a slower pace than they used to. They certainly don't need any help selling their products, but, I believe the way they do their releases now helps to fuel the frenzy, so to speak! :)
PS: I may try to pickup a nice stag! ;)

Could well be Ron. I must say I like the Bar shield on the RB version, very smooth:cool: Not a fan of the Banana shield, it's like that Guitar thing some years back....kitschy:D

Whatever, this is a fantastically made pattern, still long for shields on Stag though;)
